I'll sharpen a 24" but that's about it. If something falls in my yard i'll chop it up, but i'm not gonna roam around playing lumberjack. If it's that bad i'll probably be trying to figure out how to fix my siding or roof. I already texted my buddy that put my siding and shingles on. I said let the record show i'm the first to ask you if this thing rips everybody's shingles off. He'll probably have to help his family first anyway, so i'm screwed either way. One thing in my favor is history. Baltimore is tame and lame weather wise, especially compared to what some of the people on this site go through.

I just bought 2 more new saws, some files, chains, plugs, gas, oil and am waiting for this to happen!

That’s funny. I went out yesterday to top off the gas tank and pick up some bar oil. I have a few saws but they are at my other house in Michigan. All I had with me in New Jersey was a non working Poulan 71A and a MS310. They had a sweet 460 for $859 and a MS660 for $999. Needless to say, I now have a 660 in my collection.

Where that is a great price?

I just did my roof two years ago. Guess we'll see how good of a job it was. I have this big maple behind my house I just know ants are in, hope it doesn't fall on my house. That would piss me off.

Sure, we Yankees do the same for a hurricane and northeasters. Fire up the Honda generator, fix the seals in the petromax and stock up on bare essentials; beer and H2O. The rest, we leave to chance.

Then up and spake an old Sailor,
Had sailed the Spanish Main,
"I pray thee, put into yonder port,
for I fear a hurricane".

"Last night the moon had a golden ring,
And to-night no moon we see!"
The skipper, he blew whiff from his pipe,
And a scornful laugh laughed he.

Longfellow “Wreck of the Hesperus”.

Both my saws are always ready and there's no less than 10 gallons of fuel in storage at all times. Just gotta get them both running tomorrow real quick to blow out any gum in the lines from the past couple months of sitting. The truck's fueled up. Chains and straps in the bed at all times. Got 30 gallons of homemade wine, two 30-packs of Pabst, and 2 venison roasts left in the deep freeze. Pick up canned green beans and a couple of loaves of bread on the ride home from work in 2 hours and I'm good to go. My neighborhood is on the edge of a loop, so I'm planning on a power outage for at least 4-6 hours, minimally.

Gotta keep the saws ready, but hidden......

If I pull the 090 out, and Irene sees it in her path, she might just cower and veer off onto a different course where her destruction might be met with less......resistance....:msp_rolleyes:

I've only got a 3120 and a 7900 where I'm going to be when it hits, so I sure hope that it knocks down some big ####, or I'm just going to have some sore arms for nothing...

I'm actually supposed to be at an outdoor wedding for Saturday, so maybe I should stash one in the trunk just in case a tree falls across a roadway.

Wouldn't be the first time I've seen someone cut in dress clothes. I sold an MS 460 to a German Doctor who jumped int he woods with slacks and a tie on and started giving the saw a whirl.

Nope. Not "getting" ready. Already did that.

Might go a little farther with that tomorrow, though.

May Irene miss us all.
