Well, looks like I'm headed in for emergency surgery this afternoon. :/

Doc said he's gotta get the disc off of my spinal cord ASAP. All my reflexes, and strength tests are normal, so he said there's most likely no permanent damage, thank God.

So, I'm headed to Nashville. I think surgery is at 6:00.

Y'all keep me in ur prayers.

J

I had a long talk with a good friend of ours on the way home from work.
I told him how many people want you around and ready for a GTG or a fishing trip for a LONG time to come and asked him to watch over and guide those who will be caring for you in the next couple of days.
He is gonna take care of you like you are his own child!

I like your doctor even more now. Very nice to see he's putting you first! :msp_thumbup:

Or, he needs a downpayment on a new Mercedes AMG S class. :hmm3grin2orange:

Praying for ya, bud!!

If he can fix this he deserves a down payment on the Benz!!

Best of luck to you Wiggs. You are in our prayers. Let us Know How you are doing when you feel up to it.

Mrs, J , If yall need anything, i mean anythng, let me know. i am off tonight and pass by there every day.Tell j to hang in there and yall know where i am. was just thinking about him today when i had the smoker going and get on here and see this.jackie

Geez Wiggs thats the worst herniation ive ever seen. Prayers are sent for a full and speedy recovery.

My girlfriend has had two lumbar fusion surgery's and it strikes me as odd that the "surgery will take about 50mins" which to me means the surgeon is shaving the disc down and not fusing the vertebral bodies, im surprised considering the severity of the herniation.

Please keep us updated Mr.s Wiggs

My wife had this surgery in the C4/5 space and it was about the same length, and I know she had a carbon fiber doughnut inserted and the discs fused.

On a serious note, thoughts and prayers for ya muh friend.

God bless you, and on a positive thinking line - you are fine, and will be back to chainsawing (is that a word?) with the biggest baddest saws you have and be handling them like a 10cc saw

ASAP - That's the way I would want it, I know if I had time to think about having surgery I will dwell on it and probably not get much sleep until then.
Looks like they're gonna take care of ya, Get well soon!:)

Are you enjoying the pain meds pump?

WoW!

By now I'm sure you're out of surgery and enjoying the pain meds pump! Hang in there! Prayers sent!

You guys that are near....please don't wait for Wiggs to ask for help! Go over there and get 'in his way' (so to speak) so that his/family's needs are met! Lawn care.... and other things. Maybe a few $$s wouldn't hurt either. 60% of not enough to start with is well......not enough! Us guys sometimes have too much pride for our own good!

A few days a go I bent over at work and felt a twinge in my back. I've been going to the chiropractor and my back feels better but my left leg thigh is still numb! Right thigh was numb too but not now. After seeing your MRI, I'm going to insist on getting one this Friday! I don't feel like I'm improving fast enough! Better be safe than sorry! I've had back pain before but never numbness!
