I got this Pioneer 1110 here that has a 8 tooth sprocket on it. The IPL I have just gives a part # and dont say if its a 7 or 8 tooth.

What other saws used a 7 tooth sprocket that would fit on this saw and what would the proper part # for said 7 tooth or rim drive sprocket.

I'm out of my comfort zone on these parts so I come to the gurus for help. :hmm3grin2orange:

If!, an 1110 and 1200 share the same sprocket/drum, Sabre N207-A7 will work for 7 T-3/8 P. Another number is PI-22-A7, but, I have no manufacturer for it.

Pioneer 1100, 1110, 1120 and 1130 took the same sprocket. The spur drive # was 471508 and the ring drive sprocket was 471399, Pioneer numbers. There is an Oregon sprocket number 68210, its a ring drive but is no longer offered from Oregon.

If the P51 is the same as the PP455 then yep, use a common Poulan late model coil assembly (non strato, like a 1950, 2150, most any wal mart green saw). The mounting is the same and all I had to do was trim down the laminates about .375 II.RC. Bolted it on and timing was very good and it runs great.

I think you have to use a coil that bolts the the cylinder of the Poulan and bolts to the cylinder of the P51.

The mounting is different from a PP455. I had to go to a P52 jug to get my P51 going. Then I could use an ignition from a P42 (same as PP455).

Something I should have tried was to make an adapter plate for the newer-type ignition, and then grind down the mounting bosses the same as the thickness of the adapter plate. I didn't think of it until I already had the new jug, but it may work.

Please let us know if you find something that works.
 
To fit the new style on the P51, some kind of adapter needs to be made. The P50, P51, P60, P61 and a few P62's use the blue/white rectangle module. Most of the other P's use the newer style.

Do you need a P51 module? I might have a spare.

Actually no. I am looking at buying a P51 for salw up here but am a bit spooked about what i hear about the crappy modules.

I don't wnat to buy something that won't be a runner with no chance of getting a module without endless searching. If I did buy it, what do you think it's worth? I think I would like the saw and would love to have one to play with.
The saw apparently has had a new module installed. It comes with a 20" inch bar (getting sick of saws coming with 20" bars).
At present they are asking $150 for the P51 and a Homelite 200 top handle. Both are supposed to be good runners.

I think $150 just for the P51 is a great deal... especially if it's clean and not broke up. They are a powerhouse. I'd get it if I were you, down the road if you decide to flip it, you should be able to make some money on it. Parts are easy to find for them, except the module. I have a few spares, but would part with one if the deal was right. Personally, I've never had one go bad on me. I truly think what burns them up is the heat. With the location and shape, it's easy for chips to pack solid between the jug and module. I have a couple that got so hot, the plastic started to melt. But they still work. Just keep the area around the coil clean. I always blow it out with a blow gun if I put some time on one.

No question about that. I will clean it up first and then get some ice for my swollen eye after the wife finds out and then get some pics.

Actually, she's really happy as we have enough wood to have fires every night now. Life is good.
I just need more saws to be very precise in cutting application.

I had a "decent" P51 awhile back and a guy came along and "had to have it".....He gave me $450 and left like he has stole it. I thougth it was top dollar from my side, so it was a win, win.

$150 is a good buy for a running P51 for sure!!:clap:

P51 Today

Well I got down there and was a little disappointed in what I found. The saw runs really strong, oils well and except for two issues looks to be in good shape.

The clutch cover is cracked in half but in a non stress area so I think I can repair that with JB Weld. The handle is cracked right through and I'll need to replace that or more than likely have it TIG welded.

I hesitated buying it but it sounded so darn good I couldn't resist. Got it for $100 and I'm happy with that.
Compression checked out at 135 lbs but I think the decomp valve is leaking a bit. The piston and cylinder look really clean so it may need a ring.

Tag says it's a P51H built in 82. It came with a 24" bar and Pioneer chain

I'm looking forward to trying a cut tomorrow after I sharpen the chain and then fixing her up.

Tim, I have a lower handle brace here somewhere you can have. I might have a clutch cover too, I'll look tomorrow.

Nice saw for $100 :rock:
