Sorry Ron. Edited my post in the quote above to try and make it a little clearer. Somebody is now sending the 85898 lower/front AV mount, so that's covered. I have a PM (with a more detailed list of what's still needed) ready to send to you, but your PM storage is full.

Sorry. I made you some room. Ron

Then it must be the ferocious Suppa 797. :hmm3grin2orange:

Piston 2.290...I believe a 797, not a Super...thin rings. Should be a .020 overbore as marked on the jug.

I thought the 797's had black tops and Supers had yellow?

What do you guys make of the numbers?

Going to make this one left hand start:rock:

All the regular 797's i have and seen have the 66251 number
stamped into the block. Only a few Supers i have do not have
the 66251. Your number and being on that side of the block
i'm guessing is the serial number. And the lack of the 66251
led me to believe it's a Super.
Your correct that all supers were all yellow and regulars had
black tops. But who knows what happened in the repair shops.
Use what you got.

Left hand Super 797...I'll take it Lee:rock:

Too bad it's apart in a box:laugh:

Think I found the flooding issue on the tillotson for the 380. Someone previously put the rubber on the seat in backwards not letting the needle sit properly. Gonna get a full kit soak it proper and go from there.

I just got this old Mac bar in a pile of saws a friend gave me (6 Homelites and a Wards, so the pics are on the Homelite thread). I may be interested in trading for a bigger bar for my Super 1050, would like a 42" to 50". I'm still in the thinking it over stage. Typically I'd go find a big Mac to go with the bar, but, I'm trying to break the compulsive response habit. If you have a big Homelite bar in 404 that you would like to trade, let me know, Joe.

Even though my Dad used Macs up into the 60's, I don't remember the flying geese logo, pretty cool. Here's a pic of the geese, and the power head end of the bar, it's 46". Sorry the geese are off center, it was so bright out this morning I couldn't see what was in the screen on my phone. Thanks, Joe.

Well, Ya ever have a saw that just got the best of you.
Here it is. It was a very nice 7-10 i just got off the bay
and ran but need a simple fuel system tune up. So i took
the carb off, Rebuilt it and went to put it back together
and all i can say is these saws are a total piece of ****.
Who ever designed these things should be shot. Gasket
spacer then another gasket. throttle and choke rods with
rubber bands, WTF, Then you hook the throttle rod to the
carb and it comes off the trigger. Six times and it hit the floor.
I saw the exploded front tank cover, then i fired the carb out
in the woods. I wasn't done yet. I wanted this saw done. I
grabbed the sledge o matic and went to town. It won't run again.
This morning after i had cooled off i went and found the carb.
I can at least use that again as well as the nice filter cover.
