All these saws are ported, right? Are their any gains to be made from just putting a stock 460 jug and piston on an 440?

How do the top of the line top handles stack up? I would think they are designed for most oomph per weight in the hand.

It's old, but if I had to guess, of the saws I own, my old poulan tophandle s25cva would win most cut to weight.

well it is measured in kw/hp per kilo/pound. The best l own and have yet seen any better and l could be wrong is.....READY!.......it's the SOLO 681!! Coming in at 1.9kw per kg. To find the real answer to this we need mass data screaning, a talking textbook would be perfect!..........SAWTROLL WHERE ARE YOU?

Good one! :)
It's probably only possible to have more k dubyas than k geez in your hand with a big expansion chamber hanging of the starboard side. I think the MS 660 holds the top spot in the spec sheets. 1.44 kg/kw.

Solo 681 is the Dolmar 7900 essentially IIRC. Solo and Dolmar developed some saws together and kind of went different directions after those.

I've not run enough saws to swear to it, but the 660 gets my nod, and I have owned 390's. All stock

It has and honestly I think it's not even a contest. A 200t walks away laughing
