Just wait, them climbing saws are a PIA to take apart unless you have done them before.
Make sure the 2 mount nuts on the carb are tight ,dont overtighten though.
It's ******** my brother leaves his 201 in the tool box of the truck with old fuel in it all year and never cleans the airfilter and it always runs. I take very good care of my saws and this **** happens lol
Dont go crazy it will just cause more problems. That s why I have 6 of them MS 200 T's anyway.
The muffler is very easy to remove. One screw holds a plastic cover on, just forward and below the clutch. Remove the two muffler bolts, and that's it. Sounds like you might have a bad carb.
I don't go nuts I just make sure not to leave has in the saw too long and the airfilter is always clean/new. It also always rides in the cab of the truck.
Great price on the 200T. That's one sweet saw.
Could your idle speed screw (LA), not the low idle mixture needle (L), be out of adjustment?
I played with that too and nothing. Seems like a carb issue maybe rebuild it?

Did you reseal the welch plugs with nail polish when you rebuilt the carburetor?
Send your 201T to Brad S. He'll get it performing like a champ. Then sell it and keep the stock 200T. You will wind up in +$'s and have a sweet top-handle saw. In fact, I'd make a fair offer on the Snellerized 201T to help you out.
I'll buy your 201. I already have a 200 but another small saw would help me out. How much?
I am fine buying it "as is, where is".
I'm not certain on selling it yet once I get the 200T then I'll make my decision and I'll let you know.
But back to fixing the saw. Some good news! Pulled the muffler and from what I can see through the exhaust port there is no scoring at all. The piston also has a nice film of oil on it too. So it must be a carb/fuel issue. I'm going to tear into it some more and pull the impulse line and check for leaks. Could it be something internally with the carb? Aren't these carbs equipped with an accelerator pump of some sort?
Sounds like the carb is the issue . Do you have any friends with that saw that you could swap and test? That's what is good about having a few of the same saw.
