Can you just borrow one from a friend? dont pull it apart yet do the comp test first.

My girlfriends father is a mechanic and has a nice snap on one with a whole bunch of fittings but it's at his work so I wouldn't be able to get it till Monday.
 
It's ******** my brother leaves his 201 in the tool box of the truck with old fuel in it all year and never cleans the airfilter and it always runs. I take very good care of my saws and this **** happens lol

Dont go crazy it will just cause more problems. That s why I have 6 of them MS 200 T's anyway.

I don't go nuts I just make sure not to leave has in the saw too long and the airfilter is always clean/new. It also always rides in the cab of the truck.
 
Turn loose of the misfit 201 and get a 200t t540xp or cs355t. That echo is hard to beat
 
Send your 201T to Brad S. He'll get it performing like a champ. Then sell it and keep the stock 200T. You will wind up in +$'s and have a sweet top-handle saw. In fact, I'd make a fair offer on the Snellerized 201T to help you out.
 
I'd only consider selling the saw after I get it running properly. Maybe I'll send it out to be Snellerized after I pull the muffler and make sure the piston isn't scored.
 
I am fine buying it "as is, where is".

I'm not certain on selling it yet once I get the 200T then I'll make my decision and I'll let you know.

But back to fixing the saw. Some good news! Pulled the muffler and from what I can see through the exhaust port there is no scoring at all. The piston also has a nice film of oil on it too. So it must be a carb/fuel issue. I'm going to tear into it some more and pull the impulse line and check for leaks. Could it be something internally with the carb? Aren't these carbs equipped with an accelerator pump of some sort?

Sounds like the carb is the issue . Do you have any friends with that saw that you could swap and test? That's what is good about having a few of the same saw.
