That is only the coolest mac out there!

Once you have the trigger out you have to get the DSP lever off the button and then it slides out where the trigger was. a lot easier done than said. Its the 70cc 4.3CI engine. has auto oiler, Saf-T-Start, DSP, an SDC-18 carb, external carb adjustments, and the flat style air filter.

I had the trigger out and the dsp lever off. (Compression release)? Thing would move up and down and all around and wouldn't come off. Even took the tank too off hoping for a little more room and a no go. The wire attached to it broke off so that eliminated the non running issue. But I would like to get it apart and fix it properly. I had the saw running long enough to cut some stuff years ago and that thing was a beast.

Have tryed filing square ground chains with GREAT success. using triangular file and Oregon semiskip chain 28" 3/8 . With sp125 -101B (Huskys as well) it cuts more then awesome .I could not believe it before.
With some "common sense" the filing is not as difficult as often described.
Yes I know it can be dangerous ! ( The whole life is dangerous most of the time)
have no pics at time since my camera doesnt work.

I have an 895 saw with a Mc100 motor in it. Starter is giving me fits as it's not catching or engaging on every pull. Seems to be only right at the end of the rope, not at all and then finally a good pull. I don't have the IPL, anybody have some info on what starter I can swap onto the saw or where to start?
Thanks!

I am the proud owner of a Mini Mac.
Just received it last night from a member here, and he says no spark, he suspects bad coil.
My Question is,
Where is the coil on this saw, the same place as on huskys? behind the flywheel?
How hard is the fly wheel to get off?

thanks!

Coil is outside the flywheel, easy to get to...except you have to pull the engine out of the housing to get at it.

Point are under the flywheel, very likely a no spark issue is just points needed to be cleaned. I use a two jaw gear puller to remove the flywheel, back the nut off but leave it on the crankshaft to prevent the flywheel from becoming a flying wheel when it pops off.

This past saturday I traveled down to a neat old Mac shop between Rochester and Wabasha, MN. Still in business yet as a Snapper/J-Red/Efco/Briggs dealer. Still have a good supply of NOS Mac/Lawn Boy/Techumseh parts too. Needed a few small parts so while the owner and his wife looked for them in the attic I noticed this hiding in the hallway back to the shop.

Of course I asked if it was for sale and sadly it wasn't. It belongs to the owners son, who works there. Also had a BP-1 up on shelf. Can't remember if they said if this one still runs or not.

Took down both Super 250's, the $30 PM 700 and the $10 250 for converastion pieces. When they saw the Super 250 with the cut-off attchment they said they've heard of them but never seen one until then. Ended up talking to them about chainsaws in general for almost 2 hours and they wern't very brand-biased ether. In the end before I left the owners and their son said they appecate when people come in looking for parts for the older Macs to keep them running. Ended up coming home with a crank seal for the Super 250 cut-off saw, a .404 spocket rim for the 250 and a . 404 Super Mac sprocket for the Super 250 to replace the spur thats on it. But it was the last one the shop had, they copied the instruction sheet in case the needed them in the future.

The 660 looks like it has a bucking spike that attaches at the front of the saw rather than the conventional side mount. Is this so? Does anyone have a picture and a spike for sale?

Sorry, been a busy week.

Super 250 with a 24" McCulloch hard nose bar. This this oils like crazy. One day I will replace the Tillotson with an original Walbro/McCulloch flat back carburetor with the choke to keep it original.

This one will eventually find its way into a saw.
