Been lurking here for a month or so. Found it trying to figure out how to change 0.325 to 0.375 on 028. I need to pull that one back out, it's working with kit from Baileys but the oiler gear didn't look too good, I better take another look at it. Also, have a friend's 025. He didn't want to spend money, so I suggested we try Chinese parts, after reading more here that may have been a mistake. Will know in a couple days. Also, with help of this forum took limiters off carb and ported muffler on a very nice 036 pro I bought from a friend earlier this year. Retuned it and truthfully he would probly want it back if he knew how well it runs now ! Well thanks for all the info. Forum has helped me make these saws run good.
welcome to AS!
Sounds like you're doing well with what you've learned.

Chains. Lots of chains. Last weekends mini GTG made me feel a little ashamed. I usually don't let my chains get so bad, but I've been slacking way too much.

On the ones with less meat, I'm giving the file-o-plate a try on the depth gauges, we'll see what that does.

I need a grinder, been messing with a couple rocked out chains and they are quite tedious.

No working on tools, rather actually using them. :) We just added 6 acres to our lot today and it needs some serious trail management this weekend.:chainsaw::chop:

660 with a leaking base gasket and an F'd up carb.

084 that's missing the bottom of the piston on the exh. side.

The 12 steps down to my basement garage help keep me clean, but like Randy, I too am a recovering addict. I joined NA when I was 26 after a couple pills for routine surgery turned into a full blown heroin addiction. I got down to 160lbs at 6' 5" and looked like death warmed over when I returned home from Ohio after a two year hiatus. Props to you Randy, I know how hard it can be. Now, down to the semi-good part. I've got a Husky on my bench. The bad news, it's a 240e. I'm going to to replace the EZ tensioner with a standard cover and tune up its surging problem and not wanting to idle at no choke. Probably woods port and muffler mod it for the heck of it! I want to turn this little junker into a screamer. Also got a 7 lb Homelite Bandit lx-30 on the bench and a Mac comin tomorrow which I'm excited about. Gonna get the bandit runnin for a light tree limber and decide what to do with them later. If I get that Husky running decent I may just show off with the little bugger to family members. Haha!

tonight on the bench a late 70's lawnboy 5247 with a 4hp F100 engine
