I get it.
I understand 100%.
All I'm saying is that I'm very very surprised that someone working with climbing, lifting, hoisting and rigging has never heard a knife referred to as a "rope wrench". "Rope Wrench" has been in my vocab for decades and not sure if it came from Military or Scouts.
I'm just saying that I find it funny that a product designed to HOLD and ascend is named after something that many may see as something used to cut you loose.

Anyhow, back on topic. Bob, are you running a pantin along with your foot loop?

I use a CMI hand ascender (ugly but sturdy!) to my foot loop, and a CMI foot ascender (again, ugly but sturdy, and I like the lock in feature) on the other foot. I also use a chest harness which helps keep me more vertical, and comfortable, and also gives a handy tie-in point to tend the Wrench or pulley without having to get the hands involved. Once you get it all set up you can climb darn fast without having to push up any of the Wrench/hitch/pulley hardware.

Right now I'm using an extra bungee saw lanyard over my shoulder clipped to my hitchclimber to tend and a Pantin on my right foot. Everytime I advance I just grip the rope and do a pull up and bring my feet up with me and keep going if that makes sense. It uses my upper body as well but is very fast. I am going to buy a haas for those long ascents though. Tope walking just makes more sense.

I'm just getting into SRT also and I'm thinking the SAKA is the way to go for a knee ascender.

Yeah, climbing onto anything other than the deere wasn't necessary those two days we worked together. Remember, I had the pleasure of ridiculing you while you did it for me. Lol.
