Have a new 562 coming in this week, and my dealer isn't too sure if we can set this saw up with a narrow kerf Oregon .325 chisel and 18" solid milled bar opposed to 3/8 these saws typically come with..

All help is appreciated.

im not sure if you can get it that way from the dealer but you can sure set that saw up that way, though its a large bar mount pattern i think? now im thinking of it, you may have a hard time finding a large mount .325 bar...

nothing wrong with 3/8 but a narrower kerf .325 if it'll handle the torque, sure cuts with less effort..

im with mr walker, and i havent heard anybody complain about a lack of power out of their 562, other than AT related issues. There are guys on here running 3/8-20-24"bars all day. what type of wood do you cut normally?

is there a narrower kerf 3/8 available for these little girls ? it might be fine with standard 3/8 but I just wondered of the options out there..

Do they come with a 7 tooth sprocket and will still dance with that shorter bar with an 8 ?

funny after switching im guessing about 5 years ago now, on our top handle MS200/1 from factory 3/8 lo pro .050 to narrow kerf 63pmn .043", same setup as the Stihl pole saws, the difference was night and day of how silky smooth they ease through the cut, many of the guys around here are running same combo..

on our Dolmar 421's running narrow kerf .325 again very nice to work with, and the reason im asking guys about this new husky

.325 narrow kerf might work great on smaller saws, but I would bet 3/8 would be better on a 562. I have ran mine with a 24" 3/8 full comp chain in Oaks over 36" with great results.

not trying to hammer on you, and if that is what your looking for is a little smoother cut than going .325 will do that, but again, i guess ive never seen a large mount .325 bar (that certainly doesnt mean they dont exist.)

.325 narrow kerf will work fine on a 562, but the saw has way more power than this chain requires. Yes it will cut effortlessly, but will be slower than 3/8.

A better choice of saw for .325 narrow kerf would be a 550xp, or possibly a 555.
