BAD CAD
Wanted some opinions on how to proceed with a bad purchase here.
I wish not to mention the members name who sold this saw to me unless it becomes necessary. I'm trying to keep this private between the member and I.
I was able to get the member to respond to the PM by emailing him at his PayPal address. I paid friends and family style as the seller seemed pretty trustworthy and I have never had a bad dealing here or anywhere else.
I also asked if the piston was ok. I got a bad pic. My mistake number one was not asking for more. I have a feeling now that I didn't get more because he knew it was bad.
Saw is an 036. Was listed as "runs and idles great, starts on 3rd pull". The seller responded to my PM one time 3 days ago, but then never resurfaced.
The pics are to follow. The plating in the jug is worn through on the exhaust and intake side. I could not get the saw to start before disassembly. The inside of the saw was covered in a goopy grey oily substance that resembles the Moly lube one uses to install a camshaft.
The base gasket was not OEM and looked relatively new, so someone was in this saw.
I asked the seller to supply me with a usable jug and all would be good. That was 3 days ago.
I may be premature in this posting, but that's why I won't mention the seller by name.
Interested in opinions on how to proceed. I guess I'm lucky in that it's my first bad dealing, and the fix shouldn't be that expensive. It's more of a principle issue here.
Thanks guys.
