That's him but make sure you get a new gudgeon bearing wouldn't put a saw together with out one and check for air leaks un less its been straight fuelled an air leak is all that will bring a a 266 to its knees
yep, it still runs but needs a carby kit , and i thought that kit would of had a bearing , if not i,ll buy one for sure

Wouldn't panic about it if it starts and runs it will be fine. Old huskys are like anvils
just what i like to hear, have read that the 266 , is similar to the 365 in power in small wood , but the 365 is better in larger stuff
dont know how true that is

well I had 5 2100cds at one stage but could not get a air filter when my last saw died so sold the lot.huskys to hard to get parts .glad I went to stihls.

welcome post man pat how were your 5, 2100 balanced bit of kit or ? and did you ever plonk oil fuel in the wrong holes i now i could after a bender nite out :)

they were bloodly good saws.they went hard but in our aussie red and grey ironbark it killed them.well I did service them daily but things do wear out.i looked for filters for about 4 years and could not find any.plus pistons and rings no where to be found.it was a case of every one who had these saws was not selling even a bolt of theses saws!so bugger it they went on ebay.

300k for shocks...you've done well. You must drive it like an old granny to get that many k''s out of them.
How are the wheel bearings going?
