here is ya'll one! expecting 2 orders anyday , went to mailbox and happened to look up to my gate and seen 2 boxes setting in leaves by gate right out in the open to be seen by every car passing by. normally she would have brought to house.
heeeyyyy, don't put tooooo much stress on the mail carrier!!! she might go postal,,and take you with her!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it happened again...bought a fuel line from one of our more popular vendors a state away from me, thinking it would arrive quickly. The part was mailed quickly but has been in Indy for over 7 days now. I keep looking at the tracking on the item and it states, "left Indianapolis for destination" every day, each day at a different time. I wonder what the story is this time? I could have hitchhiked to Indy and picked it up quicker than the USPS can get it to me!

The USPS is the cheapest and most reliable delivery service in the world, hands down.
Up until about about 9 years ago the post office made a profit of more than a billion dollars per year which went towards supporting the government at large, they were almost entirely self managed with the exception of Congress setting postal rates. Upon the urging of lobbyists from other large US based delivery firms, congress enacted new laws without a vote by the public or postal system requiring the postal service to make payments to a retirement fund for all future postal workers. Instead of paying for retirees as they went and with interest on investments they were forced by law to fully fund to the tune of 5-6 billion per year. The other companies said this was need so they would be more in line with private companies even though NONE of them fund retirement this way. Guess who administers the 5-6 billion, oh yeah congress. So a bunch of dummies ruined the only piece of the US government that made a profit.
Whatever you think a postal employee should be paid, think about the term going postal and the countless assholes they have to deal with, they are not paid enough.
If you want great postal rates, buy your postage online, print it out and have all your packages on a scan sheet in a bin ready to go when you get to the post office. They will smile when they see you as they intake 50 packages in less time than it takes the guy at the next teller to figure which 42 cent stamp he wants to buy.
First class to 13 oz and Priority on up with free insurance and tracking, I had two packages get lost in the last 6 months out of almost 11,000 and during that time my post office burned down.
Dave
Uhh, you have another one as of this week....

Package shipped on the 13th via FedEx from Cali. Tracking showing it will arrive 28 Apr.
That's crazy! FWIW I checked USPS 3 day shipping and it would have cost $30 less too. ($65 vs 95)

Be careful voicing your opinion here on AS!! Lol!! I did last night about a part that I bought that looked practically new in the picture and when I recieved it looked like a damn elephant set on it and sucked it up their a**!! Well got my a** tore up for exposing the business by a few memebers! I really dont give a crap as this site has become alota members that look for a reason to belittle u or prove u wrong to make themselves look good! There! I feel better lol! But yes the postal tracking sucks. Ive signed up with ups and fedex for tracking updates and follow my package easily with updates by text. I feel your pain man!!
No way would someone on a Internet forum say anything that wasn't true to do you harm so they look good.
Craziest thing I've ever heard.

I've had excellent service from usps for the most part. The only exception is the occasional sub that takes over for my regular
mail lady. My packages go in my mailbox if they fit, on my front step if they don't. Very rare that there is a problem.
Fedx brings some of my meds monthly. 3 days after the order goes in it will show up by my front door.
I've had the same usps mail lady for most of the last 15 years. We did have one sub that sucked big time. He was good at driving the route in record time. He just didn't understand the part about stopping and putting the mail in the boxes.

I generally have good service from the local carriers too, it's the big city distribution centers that take a lot of time. By the way, I received my item today, only 11 days from Ohio to Indiana and the part was shipped by the vendor the same or next day after I ordered it. This one is all on the PO at Indy where it stayed over a week before they sent it out. I have the part on the saw now and if the saw runs will be returned to the owner tomorrow. Until the next time........

Why they can't make money? Here's why.

I I send a letter or package to the next/adjacent town, it first goes to a distribution center 50 miles away, then the next day or two , it gets shipped back to the town that's only 5 miles away. So the parcel travels 100 miles and days, instead of 5 miles same day.

My rooster has been harrasing our lady mail carrier, well, up until I shot him on Sat.

I saw her today and told her the news, that his reign of terror has ended. She was glad to hear the news...

It really depends on the post office. The people who work at my local one are great. The one near work, not so much. USPS has a lot of folks with "not my focking job" mentality. I had a package where the could have manually cancelled the stamp but instead sent the whole package back to my return address which virtually cost them double what it would have been to bust out the stamp and sent things along.

I have a very small town PO just 1 1/2 miles from the house. That's not where mail or packages come to me from though. Fortunately I have had the same mail lady for several yrs.
I do ship all from the little one horse town PO.
Seems like the longest shipping times for any of the carriers is for the parts that you REALLY need.
I have a UPS driver who has driven my package around an extra day or 2. Needs sig on shipments that don't rquire sig. Complained to right guy at the delivery barn, improved some. Postal lady places it on the porch if it won't fit in the box out front. Ups george hid next day envelope under storage tote in yard , so it just depends on whose turn it is to agravate us today

Fedex is notorious around here for marking your package as "delivery attempted/not home". This doesn't go over well when you have been home waiting for said package to arrive all day.

I've had astounding luck with USPS...never had any issues at all sending or receiving packages. Yeah, the tracking is pretty hit or miss but as long as the package arrives in one piece and roughly on time, I'm happy.

Fed ex has been better than ups driver George. Their barn is 6 or 8 times as far away as UPS but box is placed on front porch. ups stated security issue package not delivered.IMG_20170403_151756.jpgroadway another70 feet behind spot pic was shot! The only angle to see top left corner of front door , so security issue? ? George has even been told by one of the tree service owners who has my phone#, George just deliver. He was ready to ask me to ride with them til I told him about UPS driver george (-' Chuck re thought that invite ;-)

Well, the part I received was fine but unfortunately that wasn't all that was wrong with the saw. Looks like the ignition parts must have drawn moisture or something because it misses and backfires like crazy but it will idle. Thinking i need to take the starter side loose and have a look at the ignition. I've been told to order a module for it so looks like another wait...

I've had maybe 3 to 4 single stamped, first class, plain #10 envelopes lost out of about 2.5-3 thousand in the last 10 yrs...not bad. Luckily, the rifle sight posts sealed inside weren't too costly to replace.

Back before the days of direct deposit, I used to get my paychecks by mail. For soe reason my checks where always late. One day after my check being two weeks late and the company issuing a replacement My check came in the mail. It had been opened and written across the front was this person doesnt live at this address. Po had delieverd my check to the wrong address, someone had opened it and most likely left it setting on the kitchen table for two weeks before dropping it back in their mail box. so I got a PO box. Didnt help much, one day I went in to ask about a package I hadnt received and when the clerk went to look in the back, she brought up a 5gal bucket full of my mail. Some of it was three or 4 months old. I blew a gasket right then and there. Asked to talk to the post master and got the usual bullcrap he would look into it and it wouldnt happen again. Not good enough, asked for contact info for his boss. called him up, got the same bullcrap answers and asked for his boss. This continued until I got a number in D.C. I still got the same bull crap answers, but next time I went into the PO, they knew me by name and it was yes sir no sir. Didnt improve service, but at least they where nicer about it.

For me, I am finding having a PObox is not a good way to get mail. Lots of companies wont ship to a pobox. UPS, fedX that used to deliver to my door, likes to drop off packages at the USPS for final delivery. I put my physical address on the shipping label, they drop the packages off at the PO, PO hold package for a few days and ships it back to sender, because they dont deliver to my physical address. Just yesterday, I was trying to move money from my 401k to my IRA because I am retireing fro the company I worked for. Low and behold, My checking account has a PO box on it and Vanguard wont sent my money because they use Fedex to send out the checks. Now they would deliver to a mailbox on the side of the road, but they wont deliver to a Pobox thats taken care of by the USPS. rant over!!

I've had terrible luck with our post office lately. It's a small, rural post office, one lady in the office, and one or maybe 2 drivers. To start with the hours are absolutely terrible if I need to go there for anything. M-F 7:30am-11am and 1pm-2:30pm. So can't go at lunch and no way after work. Saturday morning they are open 9-11am.

They refuse to get out of their vehicle if the package won't fit in the mail box. She'll lay on the horn for a few minutes if she has to. Then they'll drop a card in the box saying they tried and pick it up at the PO. Which is impossible with the hours. I called about it just last week and said to deliver it and live it next to the driveway where she turns around. Didn't happen. And they are so rude and hang up with I call. She also says they are terrified of our dog.

UPS and Fedex are great. Always on time and they leave the package by the door. They both love our dog too. He jumps in the truck and wants to go with them and gives them kisses.
