Nice, I like both. The 353 is very underappreciated, its a very forgiving saw in the cut, great firewood saw.

Patients, being ready to pounce when the deal comes up, sometimes that means being willing to drive a couple hrs to make it happen.

Saw two of those 056's shorted out from wire insulation peeling where wire goes through case or plate as I remember. Covered wire with shrink wrap and fired both up.
I must have missed the 300 one.
Those 461 are great saws, little muffler mod and a timing advance and they come to life, ported even more.
Like I always say, what works for one doesn't always work for everyone, I like to run them all, the handling on the huskys is the best for me, stihls are getting a bit more angle on the top bar these days though so they feel a bit better

Good call, on the 056 I brought home I already went over old kill switch for any exposed wire and even soldered a new wire onto old ignition as well as trying a new ignition that we got from Stihl, I wish that the 056 I have was as easy a fix as two 056's that you had, that would be awesome. I will update with pics once I start tearing into the old ignition.

What is the last saw that you are missing?
257 is a good saw, its also got the largest squish of any of the 2 series saws, one of the only ones that you can get away with a base gasket delete on.
Personally I like the 357/359 platform better. Side tensioner, better caps, better air filtration, better AV, way better fuel economy.

I’m not sure which series 2 or 3 had the highest max rpm? It’s all about the highest rpm and the lightest weight?

.That's one of my favorite 2 series saws, little more power than the 346 and quite a bit more grunt, but only a little extra weight.
What's funny is that's the exact saw I've compared to the 550mk2 and what I hoped it would be like. I think the 550mk2 is very similar but with all the features of a modern saw, which some may want more than others. The hp on the 254 iirc was underrated from husky, but independent test showed 4.2, spec check please @SawTroll
.Heres one I had running a 64dl chain on an old Windsor bar. The video was to show how you can use a bore cut to get under dirt/mud on a log and then cut from the bottom of the muddy spot to throw the mud off rather than pulling it thru the cut which dulls the chain very fast.
My guess is the 3 series has a higher rpm spec, no its not always about the highest rpm and the lightest weight. There are times especially with regards to the written specs that you won't get a feel for how a saw cuts based in them, as well many times the way those specs are derived are changed through the yrs for various reasons so its hard to make a true assessment based on specs alone.
Not sure what your asking about the 346, great little saws with a diehard following, and while I like them and run them for firewood duties I find the 550 to be much more efficient in all areas for jobs. That being said I like to have the 346s around as they are fun little saws.

Wow chipper that 254 sounds good, they have good torque too. I was lookin at the 550xp MII but the demo was too hard to start, plus i have a 2018 550xp that works fine so cant find a good reason to upgrade. I don't notice the higher rpm so much with the small saws but i do with the big saws, especially the new ones, not sure if its really higher rpms but the acceleration of say the 572xp is a lot faster than the 272xp, no big deal since im not using this one anyway
