Best or easiest way to tighten skidder tire chains

Whats the best method of tightening skidder tire ring chains ?? what tool(s) do you use ??

Ratchet straps or come along though they don't need to be very tight. As long as they aren't coming off it's fine.

If your ta;lking about the steel tracks that go over rubber tires, we always used a ratchet strap.

I use old trampoline springs stretched and attached at 6 or more places around the circumference.

Easy trick is to put a bungee around the 2 ends pulling them together, drive around for a bit and all the slack will work it's way to the ends then you can re-latch it easily.

My logging friends use a tool they had made.

Grabs the chains and pulls them together in a scissor motion to be latched.

Uses a threaded rod with a welded nut on it. Then battery powered impact to work it.

Makes it very easy to get on and off and to do chain repairs.
