Mark, does this mean if you have the brass insert fuel cap you should use the Poulan replacement duckbill?

Haven't been on the site for awhile.
Six months ago I had my shoulder replaced. I didn't realize the recovery would take months.
Add that to moving from the house I've owned for 13 years to a big piece of land that needs work.
I've literally just had the busiest period of my life.
Also, I decided it would be a good time to quit my work (15+ years as a General Contractor) and see if I can make a go of it just cutting lumber. I've deen doing OK with it as just a hobby. Rolling the dice, I guess.
I finally got the new chainsaw bench set up and most of my tools squared.
I put my basket case 890 on it (saws in storage tubs take up more space and don't look as good) and though I'd check in on everyone.
I'll keep you guys in the loop on this 890. I've decided to (try) to work on one saw at a time.

The brass cap should work with any of them, but that item is often missing. I just happened to have one at the same time I was using the red Homelite valve.

Good to know, I "fixed" mine with a Stens and was concerned I hadn't actually fixed it.
Here’s a few more Power Mac 6 and 10-10’s I only use Fel-Pro material. Some people on eBay use lesser quality. Everything of mine is scanned, drawing cleaned up in CAD and burnt on my lasers, I have 2 currently functioning Lasers.
I also do smaller internal carb gaskets. Plus lawn mower and any other gaskets. I have a few resellers in town I do work plus some others. You should try a hobby laser works great for cutting and engraving leathers, smells like someone is getting cremated but works great!
Here is a train laser burn I gave to my neighbor.

If only I could find those springs! I need to take the time to fabricate some one day.
I suspect even old metering springs from a big carburetor like the Tillotson HL could be made to work.

Any hardware store should have something that could be made to work. Same for bar spacers. You can make 50 of em out of an old screen door spring -- or a piece of brake line, or fuel line, or by grinding a coupla hex nuts...
I use ink pen springs cut to length with good success.
I can't help it. I'm a country boy.
We did the same thing, but we were a residential company. After I sold Dad's saws and then started buying them, to replace the ones I sold, I was surprised so many I bought had dogs on them. Since ours never did, I thought they were an option, and Dad told old Calentonio to just keep them.
Do you need the repair kits for use or display. I think I have a handful of Oregon #10 1/2" repair kits.
I was having a blast playing with my Brush Bandit Model 65 with a Wisconsin VH4D. A friend said a Bradford Pear went down in a storm and was blocking a gate. Went over and had the whole tree chipped up in an hour and a half. I had a big pile of brush on the hill at my house and it finally dried out enough to park the chipper in front. I cranked it up and it started perfect. I looked over at my neighbors house and they had guests on the front porch chatting, so I shut it down. Came back the next morning and it wouldn't start. Hit it with ether, no go. Messed with it for two days. Got to thinking it may be so old and the valves hadn't been adjusted in years, that might be the problem. Being a flat head, you can look down a plug hole and see one of the valves. Oh Boy, #4 cylinder the valve was cracked from the edge to the stem. Going to bring the FEL over tomorrow and pull the heavy steel bonnet from over the engine and start tearing it down.
Joe - I had to shorten a chain for a customer's saw and put it back together with the preset I punched out. So far it is holding up but I'd like to be ready just in case it comes apart as some point. I've got all sorts of things I could trade or can PayPal some funds it that works better for you.

My Engineer friend has been helping me with another project, not quite ready for production yet but this one is coming along pretty nicely. The ASA material is more flexible than ABS and it looks like I will be able to print these in an orientation that will create very strong "hooks" to hold it in place in addition to the lips on the top and the bottom.

Here's another bit of confusion for you. There are two different "special studs" used on the 10 Series saws to provide and anchor point for the flywheel cover over the coil. The shorter one(s) fit most saws, but the PM800 family have a slightly wider housing to accommodate the taller fins on the flywheel and so the special stud needs to be taller as well. So far I found two part numbers for the shorter one, 83512 is the more familiar and 92889 is a later number presumably the one with the cylindrical body and hex head at the top. Perhaps at some point I will uncover another part number for the taller ones as well since they also have two different configurations.
