Are you sure? The PM850 ipl from KT outdoor shows that brace in it, and the n.o.s. variant of that brace I saw on ebay gave the same p/n as the ipl lists for the 850.
Not sure about part numbers but says for an 800. The 800 folded "lump" for the bottom AV "feet" is further back than the 850
This is supposedly the correct p/n, I’m not really seeing a difference between it and the one Bryce has listed for an 800 but I have no experience with PM saws.

Im not sure about the av bump either, only have the 800 to go off of.

The 850 was introduced in 1977. Same year Black and Decker bought Mac finalized. It's my understanding that the 850 was designed by McCulloch prior to being sold. I could be wrong. Regardless, I own all the 82cc 10 series saws.The SP-81 and 850 are my favorites. With the images available to view of it I think its an 850 with a different clutch side plate. Good saw either way.

didn't get much of a retirement I just wish they forgot profits for a few years and threw money at a new pro saw. Easy to say that though I guess.
My 81 gets used more than the husky 395

Don’t forget the SP Frame and Grip Assemblies (handle bars) had horizontal lower mounting screws where the 850/800s had vertical. To reuse the current handle bar, new holes would have to be drilled.
GA Vol - My guess is a PM850 (yellow tank, 5 sided muffler) that had an accident and the clutch cover and lower brace & handle bar were replaced. The lower brace and handle bar may have come from an SP60 or 70 as they were frequently outfitted with a 1/2 wrap.
A healthy 850 is a great saw.

Max , Ron, Bob - Thanks...the splint/cast will stay on for two weeks so if anyone wants to come and be my "right hand man" I have an opening. Typing is a bit of a nuisance right now.
