Pretty sure that's Joe's Firewood in the first one .
The one at 3:20 I've seen, there was nothing funny about it, that guys leg was pinched between the two spars, he'll probably never walk right again, lucky if he can climb a ladder again šŸ˜³.
That is some of the stupidest tree cutting that I have ever seen.

Rain shadow 6ā€™8ā€ two piece (we mostly fish remote lakes accessible by canoe). I donā€™t recall which guides we used, just OE quality.
If you stick with this hobby, I guarantee at some point in time tip sections will break, guide inserts will crack and reel seats will show up with loose hoods. Lucky for you, Batson Enterprises (Rainshadow's parent company)has the best customer support of ANY business I've ever dealt with.

Kinda sounds like something I read about the Porsche 917...I guess in the sports-prototype of sports car racing at the time, they were limited to a certain displacement for non-production cars...but if they made a certain amount of cars(think it was 25), they could have increased displacement. So Porsche built a handful of driving cars and then a bunch more that were unpowered and sat on rigid chassis with trailer axles. The inspectors looked at a couple of the running cars at the front of the line and then called them good. The 917 went on to be one of the most dominate Le Mans cars of all time. I think it was over 600hp in a car that weighed less than 2k lbs...they almost hit 250mph at Le Mans...back in the early 70's. They had a 5.0 flat 12, the can am cars were even boosted.

I was able to grab a photo of this 917 at Canepa's in Scotts Valley, CA last year...check this place out if any of you guys ever find your selves in the Santa Cruz area.

Another great place to visit is Barber Motor Speedway and museum in Birmingham Alabama. They have the largest motorcycle collection in the world and over 20 Lotus racing cars. I went there 5 - 6 years ago. What an incredible place to visit. https://www.barbermuseum.org/the-barber-story/

It's like shamwow, "but wait there's more". There's thousands of those videos, I think I've watched them all, but was only featured in a few . In tree business there's a saying, not if something happens, but when something happens. I've posted pics of my suburban after I hit it with a small spar, blew out the driver's side window and smashed the pillar, A-frame, front window, and the hood. Stuff definitely happens, I was pleased first off, that noone was hurt, second the customers property wasn't damaged, third it could be fixed without an insurance claim. If your gonna screw something up that's not a bad way to go.

You workin' today??
Yeah, sometime lol. Just :drinkingcoffee:at the house waiting for a call that my trailer is ready. Since I just finished sharing a major mistake, I might as well get another one out lol. Tues I had some stomach cramps, stopped at a rest area and slept 6hrs, went back on the clock and ran to 13hrs, then slept 4hrs, well I was in violation for a lot of hrsšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø. I guess you can't do a 6/4 split, have to do 7/3 or 8/2, now my dispatcher and I know :innocent:.
What about you, heading out.

The 385 series big blocks (429/460), the 351 Clevland and Boss 302 heads all had canted valves and were developed after Ford "stole" a GM engineer. They were a little late to the party, coming in at the end of the Muscle Car era.

As a result, they produced great HP, but the heads were a little heavier. Worse for the 385 engines, they had large bores that resulted in long (heavy) blocks, and the cars were never designed for them. As a result, if you fit both a FE motor and a 385 motor against the firewall, the 385 will have a lot more weight in front of the front wheels, which ruins handling and launching (straight line).

To resolve the weight issue, they developed the Boss 429 with aluminum hemi style heads for NASCAR. It was the same weight as a FE motor and made more Hp. They were used in the 1969 Talladega's, but half the racers ripped the 429s out and put the 427s back in because the 429s pushed too much in the turns.

It was much like comparing a 440 to a 426 Hemi (the Hemi was heavier but made more Hp). At the track, with slicks, the Hemi was better, but on the street, take the 440! It is hard to catch a car that out launches you.
There was a guy that lived near me when I was growing up that had a 62 or 63 Galaxy. I'm pretty sure it had a 427 side oiler motor in it. He used to say that everyone wanted to buy it because of that motor. He bought the car brand new. I was 9 or 10 at the time. I never saw it dirty. In the Winter it was put away until Spring. I always wondered what ever happened to it.

Sounds fun, not. What kind of steel. I don't think I've loaded there before, but I've loaded at their plants.
I was told that there's some sort of law that went into effect that if you wait longer than 2hrs that the companies must pay detention time? I have no idea, I can't evdo a split sleeper berth time right  .
Dispatcher called, trailer is ready, truck is not. I let them know I had a coolant leak on the bottom hose yesterday morning, they just got the parts this morning. Said I could wait or take another truck :drinkingcoffee::innocent:.

I started cutting trees down when I was old enough to pull start my mother's Homelite XL12. We heated with wood when we had it. I use to go out in the Winter with my toboggan and come back with a load of wood. By the time I hit 20 I was clearing my house lot for my new house to be built on. I never cut trees professionally but have been cutting consistently since I was a kid back in the 60's. I've cut for elderly neighbors that needed trees removed. I cut my own firewood on our property of about 30 acres. From what I can recall there was one time i got myself into a pickle where I had 3 trees on each other. They were all on two other trees. I had a tractor but couldn't get anywhere near them to use it. I took the chance of cutting those 2 supporting trees. I got one down without any problem. The other one was holding the 3 trees up. I notched it out and starting backcuting it. Then I decided to get out of there when I heard cracking noises. Within a minute those 4 trees were on the ground. It happened so fast that all I could think about was how lucky I was that I moved when I did. Had I not ran I wouldn't be here today. So far I have never dropped a tree on a vehicle or one of our houses. I have cut some major size Ash branches over the roof at our farm next door. My daughter was helping me. I had her in my tractor which had a 1" rope attached to each branch that I dropped. I made vertical notches in the branches and backcut them while my daughter pulled the branches around with the tractor until they dropped. Each branch was removed one a time. I priced the tree to be dropped beforehand. They wanted $3k to drop it. The base was over 4 feet in diameter. My wife didn't think I could safely get that tree down.

Grrrrrrrrrrr, truck swapping sucks!! Flat stock and angle for Alro steel.

It looked great to me.
One time I bought beautiful salmon rod(read expensive but with a lifetime warranty), it was a sweet rod and you could feel the bottom and anything on it like you were running your hand down it :sweet: . Then as happens with many good feelings, the good feeling went away, yes I broke it. No problem though, because the company is a great company and I sent my $20 cash(friend got me the guides pricing :)) and the new rod was on the way . New rod arrived and I put my old one in the tube and sent my new one back shipping pre paid.
A week or so later I get a letter saying that my blank was custom tied and they would only replace the blank, anything over I had to pay for :(. So I contact the local shop that sold it to me and explained what was going on, they assured me they would do absolutely nothing for me as it was a custom tied rod. I asked them if they really thought I'd spend 475 on a rod without a warranty(I specifically looked for a name brand with a warranty and bought it as a lifetime rod) :nofunny:. There were also still rods there that were advertised as the brand i bought, but custom tied. I can promise you, they've lost a lot more business than it would have cost them to just hand me a portion of my cash back so I could have upgraded from a blank to a finished rod.
Important part of the story, I bought it in 95. Yeah it's a lot of money for a rod now, back then...
As for G-loomis, still a big fan, but I haven't spent any money with them in yrs.
I believe Loomis is not what they used to be, since they sold out to the conglomerate. The older ones were second to none.

I believe we have all went cheap on a repair only to regret it later and buy quality parts the second time around. I know I have, well at least we know how to go about the job since itā€™s been done already.
I called the company . The unit I bought is the mid size one. Seems The description on Amazon isnā€™t 100 % accurate the unit works on the axle ujoints but the manufacturer recommends the larger unit for the axle ujoints . They offered to replace it with the new one at no charge they would send the new one and a shipping label to return this one but I just told them Iā€™ll keep this one as it works on smaller ujoints which I do more often . So they offered me a fairly large discount on the bigger one so I ordered it . I may never need it but itā€™s nice to have

The reason I bought the Tiger was it was designed and built in Canada . The Chinese one I had bought broke as soon as I hit it with the impact .

Just like Filson , thoe it hasnā€™t been bought out , the higher up corporate sees that I think half there stuff is being made overseas, rather than be made entirely in Washington State šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø like it used to be .

I remember reading a story about a guy with a 63 galaxy 427 that he put in a basement and had a house built over. Several years later, he changed his mind and decided he wanted to drive it again. That was a costly move!

So many classic brands have been wrecked in this manner!

Back in the day, I bought a 58 chevy 4 door sedan that pretty much had NO options on it EXCEPT it had a 348 tri-power under the hood. I bought the car from a guy at works, aunt for 75 bucks! I pulled the motor and put it in my 63 Impala SS, (4 speed) that had a 283 in it when I bought it, but came from the factory with a 409, the 409 has the same block at the 348.

Anyway, I got a ticket one day going 136 in a 55, after drag racing and blowing away a ford torino with a 390 in it, they clocked us with an airplane.
