Oh no, no way!

Thats what im saying about getting a little bigger machine. The RC50 I had last year was light in the ass and rode like that with the snow bucket full of split dry spruce. Id be looking in the 65-75HP range myself.

BTW - most of the new ones under 75HP don't need DEF.

I know how dissattsfied I was with the lifting capacity of the RC50 I rented for the winter last year. Great machine, but that is absolutely the smallest I would want.

If he is wanting to run a firewood processor, I would think he would want high flow with in cab controls. Or at least thats the way I would go.

Im not doing a skid steer firewood processor. To slow. A commercial splitter set up properly is way faster!

Its not about not believing anyone! I simply don't have any time logging with a skid steer. No skid steer experience is my problem!

I think you would find that most of the folks using OTT in youtube vids are mostly hobbiest and not trying to make a living with the machine. If you are trying to make money, you don't really have time to set up a camera and look cool.

Do you think the TractorByNet or YesterdaysTractors forums have threads that go sideways talking about gas vs. electric chainsaws for 7 pages?

Prolly, its the innernet aint it. I go to both, TBN more for my Mitsi

observe how that machine is riding right on the tips of the tracks with that little log.

Thats green oak, about 12' long and at least 12-14" prolly at about 1K pounds, from what I know. I dont use counter weights hardly ever, but I welded a Olympic barbell end onto a reciever and can drop two 50# plates on it, and have no issues with bigger logs. but since I am eventually making 16" splits, I dont care if I have to trim a log down to 5' long if its green Oak and 36" in girth.....

I'll snap the pics you need to see of bigger wood, green as can be, and the terrain, loading my split table for processing. Works for me, YRMV.

Actually, if you really want a tire machine, a local friend has a low hour very clean 2011 Bobcat S850 for sale. Bigger machine but very well cared for, although the price is around 70k I think.

I generally haul in log form, and cut and process at the yard. 20' foot logs are my prefered length.

Also need to take into consideration the size of the logs he has down there

Ok that opens up the realm of machines that will do the job you want since you don't really need high flow.

and for a 'bolt on' splitter etc flow matters !
