I would never waste a decent cherry by fire wooding it, it belongs on the deck of a sawmill.

It's fantastic lumber to build things out of it!

Bring that setup over and we'll use the tractor to skid it, the winch to fall it, and the dozer to clean my pond out :).

Whenever you are lol.
It's gonna be a lot of work. I have two options for dropping the main stem, the one that comes off to the left I'll have to look over again as I don't think I can just let it go the way it's leaning as it may reach my shed.
Thinking Saturday Feb 11th. I have that weekend off. Unless it needs to be done sooner.

If I can't just slide mine around to where I need them. I have no interest in lifting the whole thing, but I'm fine with one end. I've been using a 5th wheel pull bar to move them around on my trailer, they are ridiculously heavy duty, as in Robs dozer probably wouldn't flex them and they are 7' long if I remember correctly.
I saw a 6.5x12 aluma trailer the other day, I was very disappointed in the quality looking at it. The one that I had that was what this one most likely replaced was a beast for an aluminum trailer that size, I kinda miss that trailer. It's tough when you don't have enough trailers lol.
I’m totally satisfied with the Aluma it’s a car trailer model very low to the ground . It’s a 2009 if memory serves me correctly. The registration is in my dodge . 58240DDA-E580-4C9E-B091-2427EB910652.jpeg

I know what you mean about metal ones are way to heavy . I found this one one the side of a major road . Guy must have been pissed when he went to unload

What is so great about cherry? Guys throw it in the wood pile with any other hardwood around here.

We could certainly take something down, not sure I'd be ready for the big beast.
So, what's your point??

I think he's saying you better bring that equipment over to help so you can haul some big logs home :).

It is real nice when milled, but I just burn it :blob2: , unless a buddy needs some to mill :).
Glad I have plenty of wood right now .

Yea I'm in no hurry. I have 2 weekends off a month. Just when your ready and would like help let me know. I won't be burning till next season anyway and have 3+ cords of mixed hardwoods for the drolet. I enjoy the grunt work. They gave me my schedule for the whole year already 😆 I can pm you it if you want

He is!! He has a Stihl chainsaw. :rock2:

A gob cut is UK slang for the face cut. A 'gob' is a mouth...for example, you might say,
'that londonneil is a right gobby sh***!' meaning mouthy git. I guess a face cut looks a bit like a mouth or smile.

Mild winter here too. I reckon 20 Jan is half way through a normal winter in terms of consumption and I'm 10-20% light

Jeez, 20+ pages behind again!
Cool! Thanks fir the info on your word for face cut! Always cool to know cut'n slang in different countries! 👍

Looks to be a serious scrounger.

Been brushing fence lines off n on for the last week. There's about 800' on hilly rocky terrain that have "woods" on the neighbors side, it's an unending battle I've waged for 20 years. I've got quite a bit brushed back clean enough to run a powered brush cutter through now, just need to scrounge one something like this

, fix it up and use it a couple times a year. It's been warm in the upper 20's and low 30's only a couple inches of snow. Honeysuckle, brambles, wild grape, buckthorn, choke cherry all the usual suspects work together to form an impenetrable mat. Let a section go for two, three years and you can't tell it's ever been done....
I don't, won't use herbicides so.........
Fiskars long handle pull lopper,

really recommend this one for working brush without getting out a powered tool.
Then blade and chainsaw on a FS 130, drag and stuff the brush further back in the woods. Good winter exercise. There's a couple more dead ash in the neighbors "back forty" could get dropped across the fence line into my pasture. ;^) But temps are forecast to drop down to more normal January in Wisconsin levels.

Looks to be a serious Hobbit! 🤣🤣🤣

Just Joking! 🤣🤣🤣🤜🤛 I couldn't help myself! 🤣🤣🤣

For all you guys who are using elephants to move your firewood, a little warning 😬.

Probably would work well in deep snow and colder weather(so they don't tear you in half), lots of ground clearance, and a smooth ride for you @Kodiak Kid ;).

Well! 🤔 Looks like I better cancel that order I have on the Elephant and go back to shopping fir a skid steer or tractor I reckon! DANG IT!!!

Hey KK YOU better get in line to get a woolly mammoth when they're available.
Fur coats for elephants are kinda pricy.
I hear they're easier to house break too.

That's probably about the same vintage mine was, it had the same type of rail welded to the front of it(except mine went all the way around). The one I just saw had a rail bolted to the top of it, it looked totally cheesy. Not sure if they are all like that, all I know is I liked my old one a lot, and the rail added a lot of strength to it.

It will probably be around 10 degrees when feb comes around lol.
If it's not too bad, I'd be up for dropping something:chainsaw:; but if it's real cold, we'd still be up for company :).
