All power saw milled lumber with a Granberg.I,ts how I made a living back then after the logging job I had shut down. 450-500 board feet was a long hard 12 hour day at .50 a board foot! Plus I had to cut my girlfriend's dad a share because it was his timber I was cut'n and milling! Good times though! 👍 Memories that will last a lifetime!IMG_20230121_210055239.jpg

And when I want to move that "something", it's a good thing I have this "something" to move it!

Right down the road or wherever I want to move it.

i hope the kid gets a tractor too... so he can show us his new skidder and moving it job to job.....

Got a call today about a town tree on a house. I have seen a lot of tree damage in my life but never saw an almost 2 foot diameter branch pop out of a pine tree this bad. Heavy wet snow caused this to break off.
we have across one of the neighborhood streets a large oak limb... it is 90 to the trunk and parallel to the road. i am amazed the joint can carry the weight! so far, so good. those wood cells have some powerful stuff in them to keep the tension under wraps!

I-
well, u get the idea

I would never waste a decent cherry by fire wooding it, it belongs on the deck of a sawmill.

It's fantastic lumber to build things out of it!

makes some good chow, too!

Cherry is an excellent wood for smoking pork, lamb, beef, dark poultry like duck and other gamey meat.

Definitely won't be towing my trailer to town with a Tractor. Not if I want to get there in less than 12 hours. I'll be using a pickup with an eight foot bed and raised side boards. That way I can haul three cord a haul when trucking a sale to town. Won't have to stack it in the truck or trailer either. Witch will make a ton of money over time being money is time and time is money! One cord pilled in the one ton. Two piled in the trailer.👍 $1000 gross per trip, being as a cord is selling at a premium right now on the Island.
If I have a tree removal job while Im there? Well, Im sure you get where Im going with this.

I’m totally satisfied with the Aluma it’s a car trailer model very low to the ground . It’s a 2009 if memory serves me correctly. The registration is in my dodge . View attachment 1050511

I know what you mean about metal ones are way to heavy . I found this one one the side of a major road . Guy must have been pissed when he went to unload

understatement of the day!

Shoot. I was thinking of getting an elephant instead of a tractor or skid steer to help me in my scrounge. I guess that's out.
Right! I had one on the way but cancelled the order after reading that! Guess it wasn't such a good idea after all! Heck I don't know? 🤷

We could certainly take something down, not sure I'd be ready for the big beast.
I think he's saying you better bring that equipment over to help so you can haul some big logs home :).
It is real nice when milled, but I just burn it :blob2: , unless a buddy needs some to mill :).
Glad I have plenty of wood right now .
i have some chips for smoking! it is real nice when cooking, i don't just burn it!

got oak for that...

Yea I'm in no hurry. I have 2 weekends off a month. Just when your ready and would like help let me know. I won't be burning till next season anyway and have 3+ cords of mixed hardwoods for the drolet. I enjoy the grunt work. They gave me my schedule for the whole year already 😆 I can pm you it if you want
i had a fire in mr Brutus almost all day today!

It will probably be around 10 degrees when feb comes around lol.
If it's not too bad, I'd be up for dropping something:chainsaw:; but if it's real cold, we'd still be up for company :).
52ish here all day today... i managed! got out and was a busy afternoon! ~ 👍
