You can't escape yourself
I recently acquired a Jonsered 2054 (#3) and there is no spark. I tested all switches, and it appears that the ignition is bad. I can't find any replacement online anywhere, but some Husky ignitions look to be the same. Are there any interchangeable ignitions for the 2054? Thanks.

latest coil p/n was 544018401 on the 2000 model. This is still available new. What is your serial number and ill check the year to make sure it will fit...

this p/n also fits the 55 rancher, 51, 55, 2095 jons, 268, 61, 2055 jons, and 272.

thanks

Steve ;)

Thanks for the info, I will get the SN tomorrow. I don't feel like going out to the cold garage right now. I can tell you that it is older than 2000, around 2000 they made the 2054 49cc.

Wow. That's a wide array! Is the 2095 correct in there? I have an old 268.

This?

I have them both new and used

Doesn't Jonsered warranty that ignition for life? I bought a small one around 5 or 6 years ago and that is what Mr. Salesman told me.

The owners manual for the 2054 I bought new in 1999 warranties the ignition for 30 days. I thought they were guaranteed for life too. I am going to stop by the local shop on the way home and ask.

That was correct some years ago, but is no longer offered. If your ignition fails and your saw is the right age take it back and see what they say:greenchainsaw:

This type in black is fixed

There was a later blue rev limited version that had advance curve but not too many and the limit RPM was quite low.

The 2071/372 style came in several different curves and rev limiters

I have tried a few of the Chinese aftermarket non rev limit 372s and they appear to be fixed but I would not hazard a guess if there are electronic advance non limited coils available aftermarket as yet.

Mine is black (just checked)

Different #'s:
9411 33 01
5061690-02
5/09
FHP Elmotor
Sweden

Where is the black one fixed? 8200rpm?
What pros/cons to using the blue one instead. Just easier starting?
And do you know a good site to visit for read/reference/aftermarket?

Hope I'm not being to inquisitive.

Thanks.

Don't confuse advance curve with rev limit

Advance curve can kick in and out at any RPM depending upon circuitry.

The Good 372 type that I use had a slower advance on acceleration with a big advance kick when the RPMs dropped under load.

The new rev limit coils have this effect usually BUT the dang limiters kick in and retard timing almost when and at what RPM they feel like it seems....

FYI that number 506169002 is the p.n, which supersedes to 544018401...

sorry my reply is slow: "the server is too busy..." :(

Thanks PES+, I have only just started looking into CDI's. Could you explain 'fixed' then please. Do you mean a predetermined advance at all rev's? And it has no circuitry?

I am interested because I figured an elctronic advance would have implications to Power and Torque curves. It would be nice to choose your preferred timing for your application. And could this answer why some Jonsered/Husqvarna so called equivalent saws have different spec.s

Also what are you using the 'good 372 type' on? Obvious answer would be 372 I know, but I won't know unless I ask.

Thanks very much.

I got a used ignition from my local Jonny dealer and the 2054 is now alive and kicking, now all I need is the correct throttle cable. LOL

Thanks PES+ for the help, and Steve the turbo man.
