I’ve got a 140S which is somewhat similar, that washer can be a real pain in the ass to remove. Should be able to work it out with a small flat screwdriver. Gotta do a north south prying action back and forth until it comes loose.
Will try that…2 screwdrivers…
I was also thinking of trying a mitivac pump into the oil pickup line, minus the filter to see if that might push it out. After 45 yrs the o ring might need replacing as well.
the problem is that the oil filter had come off, probably years ago and was wedged in the case. Managed to get it free but now need to reattach.

What was holding the washer on so tight?
Not sure if the washer had too tight a tolerance from the factory or 45yrs of age had something to do with it. I clearanced it by a couple thousandths and now it spins freely on the shaft but not too much to wobble.
getting the pump off again won’t be a problem.
