Well, I am locked out of Facebook indefinitely. When I tried to login, it said they sent a notification to my main device for me to approve the login. The problem is, I’m logged out of my main device and can’t login!

It’s not the end of the world if I can’t get in there… But if they don’t grant my appeal, I’m going to have 15 years worth of photos lost, as well as the fact that I run Facebook pages for several local nonprofits.
I had a heck of a time getting back in this morning. I use both the phone an laptop. I was on my phone and it said it didn't recognize it. There are some fixes if you Google it. Mine just started working. Did you try and reset your password from your phone?

Yes I did. I’m going to try accessing from a desktop but I fear they’re going to send me the same message that I need to approve it from my main profile.

What do you back up your external hard drive on?

Not being funny. They can die without warning. Ask me how I know!

About 4 different computers. Home, office (x2), and laptop. And an external hard drive. Terabytes are pretty cheap these days. NOTHING gets put on the web except for current files subject to synchronization. I don't even use Facebook or any other social media.

I don't keep anything on a phone. They are too easy to break, die, or get stolen. Pretty much everything is gone when the battery quits working, and that has about a 2 year lifespan.

That is a fair point. My thinking was to spend on quality and hope for the best. It will certainly see less abuse than something that is in (or falling out of) my pocket every day.

I saw something about accessing your account from another person's phone when I was googled stuff earlier. 🤷‍♂️
Steve is messenger working for you?

Man I wish you weren't so far away. I bought some from a guy and his had a lot of sapwood in it. Didn't want me picking through the pile.
I heard a similar conversation go down, something like this,

Buyer: "Lotta sapwood in these boards"

Seller: "I had to pay for that sapwood too"

Hopefully you don't run into the problem I have encountered repeatedly in my woodworking and home renovation work... I've regularly had an idea based around wood I have. Then I discover I don't have enough useable wood and cannot find more that matches well enough to blend in, or at all... In one case I had a small amount of Chinese chestnut and wanted to make a small keepsake chest... To get the job done I ended up mixing in some white oak. It's a small chest but it has through tenons and floating panels.

At the time I made it for my then wife. The chestnut came from a tree her father planted... Inside the lid there are frames for photos of our sons. Hopefully she didn't give that away or throw it away... She gave something else I made to one of my son's girlfriends. It was a simple but elegant looking Shaker style piece assembled with hand cut dovetails. When the girlfriend took off she left it with my son... She had painted it with pastels and it had glitter on it... Stupid XXXXX! I was glad to see her go for many reasons and that cemented it! 🤪

You must have some really crappy phones if you're only getting 2 years out of a battery. I had a Samsung s7 for close to 6 years before trading up to the Samsung s 21 I have now. Never had issues with thr batteries not making it at least a day, this one will go will go for a couple days between charges.
