Hello,

I've learned so much since I first started reading this forum. I don't own any Stihl or Husqvarna's; I own exclusively Echos. I know a lot of people don't like these saws; but they treated me the best and have always been 100% reliable for me. In truth, I kinda of swear by them. I'm sure Stihl and Husky's are great, I just haven't used them. I have a real good Echo dealer that I use and am happy with. I hope my like of Echo doesn't make to many people mad, I just find them to be real good saw! Glad to finally be apart of the forum.

Welome! I too have a CS-346 and its a great saw. Its now taken a back burner since I have acquired a few more saws but all in all its been good to me. Never gave me a bit of problems. Great limbin' saw! Again, welcome and enjoy. I sure have since joining.

Hello!

Welcome aboard SawinJack! Looks like you have quite a collection of Echos there. Sounds like you like them a lot. If that's what you like...that's what matters most! Mine have proven to be reliable. See you in the threads!

Best Regards,
OLY-JIM

If one is to be had I am sure I can check out Bob's 1201 someday.

I posted some pics to my Echo yahoo group on this saw april 4th 2004. I emailed Echo soon after that...Bob

this is what makes america great!

we have a choice, you have made yours, and your happy! doesn't get much better than that!

just think,if you were in europe, they would tell you what you could have, tax the snot out of you,and you'd have to wait years to get medical attention when you cut yourself.

Echo makes a good saw. I don't think they have the power and torque that the same class Stihls and Huskies do though. That being said:

I have a 346 to. Neat little limber but after I got the 026, it is on the back burner also. I have been thinkin' of puttin it in the classifieds....

A friend bought a CS 670 new in the $400's out the door, loves his echos, old to new.
So any problems with your 670? He has never had a problem yet as a firewood cutter type yet.

Welcome to the AS world SawinJack! Nice line-up ya got there mate, I don't think you'll find too many bashing Echos, they seem ta be a good dependable saw, maybe not to others commercial/pro standards but we have a fellow on Island here that is basically a small engine repair person who works on just about anything, became a Echo dealer a few years back, when I visit his shop the only saws I see on the 'to do' list are older Stihls and Johnnys, a Huskey or two. According to him the ones he has sold over the last years rarely return except for usual dumb owner stuff, not mechanical failures per se, to me that says something about a company, they are obviously trying for a quality product. I haven't had a chance to run one yet and don't care much for all the plastic feeling they have (imo, just an opine) and have been forwarned that they aren't torque monsters. But if they be reliable and actually back up their HO 5yr warrantee then theres not a lot to complain about. Next time I'm at Murry's shop I'll ask him if he has anthing to test drive, I'm curious.

 And top of the season to All!!

Welcome

My Dad used a little 50cc 18 inch bar for years. I've seen him drop some >32 inch in diameter trees. The little saw never let him down. It was just slower. It was all he could afford. Undersized but it got it done. He ended up getting a husky in the end. :greenchainsaw:

Welcome SawinJack,

I'm surprised Andy has not chimed in so I will say it GO ECHO.

I got not problem with them, I'm still using my burned up CS-510 and the durn thing is still cutting. I'm using other saws to now but, that 510 has a good feel to it and I can do a fair amount of damage with it.

Nothing wrong with them.

Have a good evening.

Sawinjack,
Welcome aboard and I share your enthusiasm for the Echo line also. They have made the only chainsaw that has held up to my years of abuse and neglect, a CS-4400. It really stood up, starts all the time, and keeps going strong.
Well.... it shone untill a Makita 6401 showed up and...well... you know, that Makita 6401 is sweet, and is begging to be upgraded to the 7900 standards.

That said, you might be interested in http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=57974
Guess I gotta start buying some lotto tickets....

Thanks for all the welcomes! I figured that I'd take a little ribbin from some over my Echos and I have. I'll laugh with you in good jest. I do like my Echos, I have no reason not to, they've treated me great at work and home. I know they're going to run. I'm not into saw racing so a few seconds faster in the cut is not a factor that weighs heavy on me, a saw that I can count on is. I know it won't be long before one of you guys sweet talk me into a Stihl or something; talking me out of my Echos you'll have your work cut out for you. But I'm open minded and I like owning good stuff.

I plan on doing a lot more reading than posting to start off with in order to bone up on my knowledge base and pick up on tips. Once again, thanks for the hello's and its good to see a few echo fans on here. Has anyone had their hands on a CS-8000 and how did you like it if you have?
