planning to replace seals in a 028 super. what is needed in the way of tools/pullers? is the flywheel nut left hand threads? any help or direction and suggested old posts very appreciated. TIA

Seal /gasket set NLA , get a BR400 set same seals and cheaper,
Lefty on the clutch, Stihl or Puch MC puller for flywheel RH treads there.
Be careful not scrathing crank/case when doing seals
so the clutch is left hand thread, thanks for the tips. can the seals usually be pried out or is it a screw into the seal to pull on? or some other trick?

Flywheel is standard threads and clutch is reverse.
I've found it to be the easiest to take a beer can or some aluminum foil and roll it up over the crank so the seal has something to slide on. Make sure you don't have any sharp edges sticking out and oil it up good. If you don't use a sleve like this you will most likely roll the seal when installing it. That being said make sure the spring stays on the seal and doesn't pop out. Make special note of how far the old seals are in and tap the new ones in gently and evenly with a deep socket the same width as the seal.

Also forgot to mention I have used drywall screws in the past to remove old seals. They work great. And/or a bent flat screwdriver. As noted above, be extremely carefully not to damage the crankcase or shaft when doing this. It is very easy to do. Take your time and don't rush or your gonna have a bad day.
