About five years ago my brother in law dropped a tree on his 028. He gave it to me and its been in my storage trailer ever since.
I got inspired to work on it last night, it is a 028 av woodboss serial number 212692907. Can anyone tell me the age?
It broke the clutch/sprocket cover and cracked the inner clutch cover. The worst damage is it broke about a two inch square piece off the crankcase. the square the serial number is embossed in.
I received the saw in pieces, does any thing attach to that piece other than the spikes?
I guess I need to get it running then worry about further repairs. I didn't think its was startable until I looked at it last night. It has spark, but emptied half a tank of really aromatic gas out of it so I know it is going to need fuel lines and a carb cleaning at the least.
I saw some crankcases with crankshafts on ebay that were not too expensive. What do I need to watch for if I buy one of those? Mine has a 4 bolt starter, I had read some of them have three.
