I've got a problem. Where the brake lever mechanism attaches to the post inside the case, that part of the case has broken off. I brought it to my local dealer and he's telling me that the cost of getting a new case, taking everything apart and seating the saw back inside a new case is not worth it.

I've tried some JB Weld but tonight when I hooked up the brake again the post snapped off again. It seems like there is a lot of force/stress on that part.

So I'm asking for opinions:

1. Should I look for a used saw and swap out the casing?
2. Should I part out the saw? (it works fine just no brake)
3. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
D

Can you psot a picture? Often the best way is to just by a used crankscase $45-60 and fit it to your piston/cylinder.
