034 to 036 Question

I have a 034 NON-super and I want to rebuild it into a 036. I have searched the site and it appears that all I need is a 036 P&C? Is that correct? I just want to double check and be sure before I spend the money on something that does not work.

I believe your right but you will also have to space out your muffler form the case.

And trim some plastic from the top shroud so it will fit, and maybe put in a 036 coil to avoid brown outs.

I've done it. All I had to do was make a spacer for the muffler out of 3/16" aluminum plate. I just used the muffler gasket as a template. Saw runs great.

Yep, I have done several. I made a muffler spacer out of 1/8" steel stock to run an 036 muffler on an 034 as well.

You just have to use the 036 muffler when you put the 48mm jug on.

Part number for spacer 1122 145 1200 Stihl calls it a Flange.
I think I give $4 for the spacer from Stihl, I have bought 4 of them
and have one spare.

It is also used when swiching mufflers around on 064 and 066.


I picked up a 036 top cover cheap for mine.
