Hi all,
Ok here goes,sorry if long winded!!
Im after a major carb kit for my 038 Mag, the ipl i have (thanks grawil) lists part no.1119 007 1066 (its a bing 48A101C carb by the way) havnt tried the local stihl dealer yet, but i see there is a guy on fleabay selling a carb kit with a stihl part no.1119 007 1065 can anyone tell me if this is compatible with my 038 mag carb??

I'd be careful. The numbers you quote might be for a Tillotson carb.

Your Bing is quoted as 1119 007 1062 for the diaphragm kit or 1119 007 1066 for the repair kit (includes a new needle and lever).

I've had two 038s. The first was a Bing carb. The present one is a Tillotson.

Be sure to be sitting down when you ask your Stihl dealer for a price. Bing parts are expensive, Bing parts from a Stihl dealer will make your arse wink!!!

Cheers Dan,

Already twitching!! ;) just hopin some guys on this site can help me out, 038 mag not runnin too good, runs for a while then stalls, gonna be a 'process of elimination' to sort it,just put new rings in it,figure need to do carb kit to rule that out before i go down the oil seal route
