042 with 52mm cylinder

i just got a 042 and it has a 52 mm cylinder, i know this because i just bout 49mm rings and they were to small. so i measured and sure enough its 52. all ive read say it should be 49 whats going on here?... so anyone know where to get rings without going to ebay? thanks

you have an 048 same saw just bigger displacement.

They probably swapped the whole top cover from an 042 to replace a broken one on the 048.

A 038 super has 52mm.

It's like the luck I had when I found my 044 at a pawn shop, it was missing the number plate, Upon asking the guy behind the counter what it was he said "Not really sure but I think it's an 034" I pulled the air filter cover off to look and see the part number, 1128 were the first digits, and thanks to arboristsite I found out that it was an 044.... So I wasted no time buying it... Been a great saw so far
