My husband and I came across a 1943 two man chainsaw (Mercury Motor) and we were wondering how to get a manual or parts. If anyone can help us out please call me. Here is the information that we have...

Model Number-KB6AX
Serial Number-24955

There are two different serial numbers, one on each handle and we are assuming it is the part number for the handles but they are...

Left Handle-SKC1304
Right Handle-SKC1537

It was made by the Kiekhaefer Corp. in Cedarburg Wisc. and the motor is a Mercury, but I am sure that you already know that the company was bought out by the Brunswick Corp in the 60's or 70's

IF ANY ONE CAN HELP PLEASE CALL ME!!!

Thank you,

Hello Leigh Ann & Dan
The KB6AY series was built from about 1949 to 1952. They evolved from a saw that was built for the U.S. Army during WW-II. There is no parts source for these units other than some collectors that have a stash of parts. The basic engine was developed from parts used in the 9hp Mercury Outboard motor from the early 1940's. It was a unique 2 cylinder unit.
