Looks like a great weekend in the greater Mid West for GTG activity. I know you called this a Poulan GTG, but it looked to me as if there were some nice yellow and black saws there that were not Poulan Pros.

Good to know we were all having some fun over the weekend.

Mark

Yea Mark, We allowed some yeller saws in the gathering. Just makes us appreciate are green ones even more!:D
Glad you guys had the good weather also.

Gregg,

I saw that too Mark. Looks like they had the best of the best there from a few different manufacturers.

Wish I could've been there but things came up that only god himself can control and I had to be with the family. Next year Bradley, Jacob (my youngest son) and I will be there and will not miss it for any reason.

Anyhow it looks like you guys ran some fine saws and had a blast. I for one can also say that Gregg and his family are some very great people that know how put on one heck of a GTG!!!

BTW Gregg, did ya happen to put me back a XXL Poulan shirt til next year? lol

You know John, there was 2 large T's left, I thought, but I havn't come across them yet. Was gonna send one your way.
Even if it was to small, would make a good Poulan polishing rag.

Gregg,

Bradley would be able to fit it soon enough I'm sure. Heck the kids in 5th grade and already wearing a size 10 in men shoes. Jacobs a 1st grader and I about sh!t down my leg when we had to head over to the mens section to get him a size 7 lol.

A couple videos if I did it right. :smile2:

Lack of videos

Guys,

I am stumped on these videos. I have downloaded them to both my laptop and desktop and when I try to load them to Photobucket or Webshots the folder does not show the files I downloaded. I can play them all so I know they are there but I also can't rename them either.

I am totally puzzled....

HELP!

I wanted to say right off the bat. That Lori is my sister, not my wife! LOL And I thank her Big Time for helping out with this! I want to thank Brad & Andre also. We worked them to death running, tuning, timing, comparing saws etc.:D And a special thanks go out to MoparMike for his Great guitar picking & singing around the camp fire last night. It doesn't get much better than that.
Uhhhh, I'll confess, I thought you had robbed the cradle, lol. Lori was a great asset yesterday. Yes, I ran myself to a frazzle, but I couldn't have been happier. I always enjoy Mike's pickin' and singin'.

1. It came out in the wood, that a Poulan 5200 is a beast. There very strong and fast cutters and in alot of our minds to be the top 85cc saw from there era. Brad can fill in more on the times and the other saws that they outcut and they were a impressive bunch as well.
We ran an Echo 8000, Pioneer P60, and Poulan 5200. Surprisingly, the smaller Echo came out on top, but the 5200 handed it to the P60. That one surprised me. The 5200 is truely an awesome saw. In about 24" Oak, Gregg's strong 385XP was only a couple seconds faster.

2. We got to run 2 souped up Poulan Pro 330 saws head to head and there both wicked SOB's for 54cc. They are both capable of giving bigger saws a whooping.

3. There are members here with impressive saw collections.

4. Bow saws require lots of displacement and power to really shine.
I thought it was just my saws, but found out how much it really takes to run a bow. I can't imagine a 3400 with a bow! It takes a gear drive or a 8500/5200 to run one well.
5. Gear drives thrive on bows.

6. This was the first time that most have ever seen a Poulan 252.
It was my pleasure to run yours. It did very well with a bow, much better than my 245. It really benefitted from the gear reduction.

7. A Poulan 3000 will hang very well with most modern 50cc saws.

8. Nik and Brad have some fantastic examples of 4000's.
Thanks to you posting the CL add, IIRC.

9. A Poulan sandcast saw with just a stack exhaust is about as loud as they come.
Huhh? I can't hear you.

10. Gregg and his family are the best host ever!

I hope you do Joe, your soul will relax and ty for it!
My soul definately was relaxed, but my body sure isn't! I slept about 9 hours last night, and then took a nap all afternoon. We just got home from Findlay a few minutes ago. It was a good weekend.

You might try YouTube. I've never used Photobucket, so can't help you there.

You know Gary, I had trouble trying to get a video to work on Photobucket or something some time ago. Was something it didn't like about the file ext. name or type. I downloaded some free file conversion software, that seemed to work.
But, I still can't get them to embed right on Arborsite like I used too. I think the one I downloaded was called Prism Video file converter. Can convert .mov files to .mpeg etc.

Hope ya get it sorted out. I think you should have some good ones.

Gregg,

I was hoping to avoid setting up another account.... Already have Photobucket, Webshots and Shutterfly to keep up with (and probably still pictures on Snapfish). Signed up for YouTube and the videos are loading, but it will take a while.

Very nice gentlemen. That sure is a lot of american muscle!

Was there ever any doubt the 5200 had some marbles:rock:

There was NEVER any doubt to the guys who know and love them, but it sure is nice to run them side by side with bigger saws of their era or similar saws of today and have them show what they are all about!!!
