You can't escape yourself
I was reading the 5100 or 2153 thread and this thought popped into my head, how does the 2152 compare to the 2153 in larger wood? I have never run a 2153 (or 346), but do have the 2152 that I have been very happy with. It is a solid runner, but not really a stand out. It feels like it has a good bit of grunt for a 50cc saw, but don't think it revs up as fast as the 2153 so it probably isn't as good for limbing.

So how do they compare in real life firewood situations? How does the 2152 compare to other models, say the 260 or would another Stihl be closer in performance?

Let's keep it peaceful boys. (well mostly)

I have a 353 and a NE346xp - the power difference feels like it is larger than the specs indicate.
As you assumed, there is also a difference in trigger responce.

I don't bring the 353 into the woods anymore, it is mostly used for cutting up planks and pallets, and it is my "loaner".

:agree2:

i replaced my 353 with a 346NE and while the 353 was no lightweight the 346 just does everything with a bit more aggression.

i always felt the 353 was slightly stronger than the ms260's ive run... but it could be more to do with the chains/tuning/maintenance of the stihls...

Mod that 2152and kick some 346NE/2153 butt lol. Really I don't know but felt like saying that! But widening the intake port and making the exhaust port a bit bigger as well as matching it to the muff. To me the saw is the little brother to the hated 359/2159 and responds to mods the same way and will kick butt for a lot less dollars.
I have ran my Modded 2152 and in stock form against a old 45cc 346 and the 346 was not as good as a 2152 in a 10/12'' tree. To me the 2152/353 is a really smooth cutting 026, plus they start better and feel better than the 026  so even stock they are a good saw. But modded they become beasts. If it was not for CAD I could do fine with just a 2152 and a 16'' bar. Who cares you cant go wrong if it is red and Black LOL.

That's about what i thought, a little more aggressive. Don't want to modify any saws or I will have to mod them all and that is a lot of saws.
