I want to try 325 ripping chain on my 076 when it's wearing the 25" hardnose (as opposed to 3/8 on the 36"sprocket) on my DIY Alaskan. Baileys doesn't sell 325 ripping, Oregon lists it (95R) but only as 050 gauge. I want 063. Does this mean I have to grind a standard chain back to my angle of choice (I'd go 10*)? Sorry if it's been asked before but I have searched...

Yes, I have had the same problem. I think you do need to get what you can then grind it back. I'm still looking for a resonably priced supply.

Probably so Harry. You might try some LP semi chisel and slowly over several passes knock the angle back too 15 or 10 if that what you want. Some of the guys here are using regular LP (in 3/8th though) and while not quite as smooth a finish, it will probably cut faster. If you are planing the boards anyway, then how smooth is a moot point anyway.
