338xpt issue

I have a 338xpt that starts fine, idles fine (for awhile) and will accelerate fine (once) before stalling and dying. It's repeatable..I thought carb check valve, so I replaced the carb..but it's the same. I'm hoping you guys can save me some time and tell me if it sounds like fuel line, primer bulb or tank vent issues. Thanks in advance!

As much of a pain as it is, I'd be taking a close look at the intake boot. It'll test your vocabulary getting to it.

Wouldn't you know it, I just bought one of these yesterday at a pawn shop after looking at posts about them for about two weeks. I haven't tried it out yet.

You can let it idle, and use a screwdriver to flex the engine within the housing to expose any splits in the intake boot, or impulse hose.
If it dies or races in RPM, then that would confirm it.

So..it's a bad fuel line. Imagine my joy when I realized you have to disassemble the saw...including the intake boot to get to the fuel line grommet for replacement..
