Looking for a 357 crankcase. Found out mine is cracked. Need it with the newer 15mm crank. Saw two on EBay but they are 359's thus no crank stuffers.

Well I know the 359 is the same but I found that the Husky case splitter doesn't work very well. Have a source for a 359 case but would need to split the case in order to add the crank stuffers. That's assuming the crank is the same. Not sure of any other model that's the same.Anything else work that you know of

I have no cases left in my piles. If I remember right the stuffers are still available and not to badly priced. If you find a 359 crank cheap. You could just pop the stuffers on it.Looking for a 357 crankcase. Found out mine is cracked. Need it with the newer 15mm crank. Saw two on EBay but they are 359's thus no crank stuffers.

Nice, I like it .I made my at work and it a little overkill. You could use a piece of angle iron or flat stock and a two jaw puller to do the same thing in a pinch.
NIce pullers. Maybe I should try making one, though I'm no welder. Guess I'll have to find a 359 case and use the crank and case. I have the stuffers s to a 359?o its just a matter of splitting it. Question: Is the 359 cylinder and saw identical to the 357 but just 1 cc larger? If so why wouldn't someone just add stuffers to the 359.Nice, I like it .
The 359 has a completely different design cylinder and piston than the 357 but they interchange.NIce pullers. Maybe I should try making one, though I'm no welder. Just bought a 359 case on EBay. Guess I'll try and make a splitter.I know guys that have done them all different ways.
359 with a 357 topend.
357 with a 359 topend.
Stuffers and no stuffers.
They all seem to run pretty good.
The only saws that really interchange is the 359 / 357 and the J-Red 2159=359 / 2156=357xp.
Cool Bob.Just bought a 359 case on EBay. Guess I'll try and make a splitter.
If you have a 2 jaw puller. All you really need is a piece of flat stock. Like the one picture I put up.Just bought a 359 case on EBay. Guess I'll try and make a splitter.
I can pick up a puller. How heavy is the flat stock? I don't want it to bend.If you have a 2 jaw puller. All you really need is a piece of flat stock. Like the one picture I put up.
The pop apart pretty easily with just a touch of heat.
I used a piece of 7" x 2 1/2" x 1/2". that was plenty stiff when I split the few I have done so far.I can pick up a puller. How heavy is the flat stock? I don't want it to bend.
MIght be easier for me to get a piece of angle iron. Agree it would be more rigid than thinner flat stock.I used a piece of 7" x 2 1/2" x 1/2". that was plenty stiff when I split the few I have done so far.
You could use a piece of angle or C channel that is thinner but a little stiffer I would guess.
