I ran one this past weekend on its first tank and it seemed plenty strong. The powerband definitely seems a bit difference but the saw was pulling nice chips for sure.

that saw does look stronger than a regular dagular 372. Too bad you don't have an old one to compare.

I agree the single intake is a huge step forward.

I can't quite remember the 395 limiters, but I think they were the same as these and if that's the case I'm sure they are spring loaded. I spun the mixture screws out (while holding in the limiters in) and piffed them.

A question most likely to global dealers ie. the US and Europe and significantly Troll...............In Canada I have yet to have any mention on the 372xpxt, other than word of mouth and the IPL, as a dealer I cannot order one, but even though was told I would no longer be able to order 372xp's since early in 2010, I just made my fall booking order for Oct 1st and stock and availablity of the 372xp is there, so my question is, if the 372xpxt being sold/marketed in the US for a test platform or to meet and get some EPA credits? or....................

I don't really know, but have observed that nothing has happened here (or in Sweden).

Also, I would not be surpriced if your next batch turns out to be made in Brazil - such saws have been observed in Sweden......;)

Nice. I'm glad it finally showed up. My dealer ordered a couple the last time I was in his shop and he got the old stock again. It sounds good but a little different.

I have two of them. I didn't know the saw had came in, did not have one with me. Will see how the day goes, might be possible to get a side by side. Also the one pictured next to this one is one of mine, oiler pickup wore a hole and pulled in some chips. Waiting for parts.

Thanks A1, It seems to be set safe from the factory but of course I will be playing with the settings.

The single intake setup is a big jump forward is strato design, It makes the carb box clean and simple again. It seems to run really well to me, but than again I'm not a Stihl nazi.;)

Good thing Stihl came up with it on their hand held blowers a couple years back.

I have run them both, The 372's I've used were all well broken in, and the 372 XT was brand new, so this comparison may not be fair, I did notice that the top end seemed to be right there with the original, but the low end seemed to be somewhat lacking, but as I mentioned before, the x torq saw didn't even have 1 tank run through it yet, I hear they gain a lot after break in. Thanks to Spike60 for bringing us the saws to try.
BTW, the 560 prototype, I was very privileged to try as well (thanks again to Spike60), and that thing RIPS!! It made my stock 357 and MS361 seem like dogs. If the production model has half the Nut that the prototype did, then its gonna be a great saw.:biggrinbounce2:

I too have now run both and own both. Honestly by feel, I can't tell the difference. I'm not a full timer like some but do cut on average 15 hours a week. My .02

Figured vid is the best representation of performance. Grabbed another 372 today. Took some pics and vid (loading now). 372xp had new rings, seals, and carb kit a couple months ago. Saw is WELL broke in. Stock with the exhaust port moved up front were I like em.

......

If it has new rings, it isn't run in.

New rings a couple months ago. Saw has conservatively more than 45 tanks through it by now.

372 OG Switched same bar and chain from saw to saw. Cut times approx

The x-torq has a unique tone at idle. Both saws set at 2700

If the 576 has more nut than this new out of the box...I need one of them also.
Will try to find one for comparison.

Hungry anyone?
