I was setting up an 046 to back up my 460 with the bigger spikes roller catcher dp muffler etc. When I put the clutch cover back on, I noticed one of the bumper strips (bottom I think) was not sitting flush due to the new nuts for the spike not sitting flush inside the clutch cover. I think I cleaned the sawdust out the recessions that hold the nuts but they still stick up. It looks like i wasn't paying attention on my other saw because when I took its cover off, the offending bumper strip was gone and when I put one in from the other saw I had the same problem.

So here's the question/questions?

Do I take a dremel and grind out the area on the bumper strip over the nut

Do I have the wrong nuts?

Do they make thinner bumper strips for when you put the large felling dogs on?

I already did a search and did not find anyone already had this problem. The only thing I found had to do with bumper strips on an 066.

thanks in advance

Mike
