Good size White Oak fell at some time on our farm.
Just below the crotch and above it may be good.
Tried to work on it today twice, got rained out
both times.......sorry about bad pictures, used our fist digital camera.

Better late than never. You ought to get some nice stuff from that baby there Gary, and firewood to boot.

I hope........going to need to use mini mill, to narrow crotch up
some (take some off the sides), 36" is longest bar I have.

Gotta say that crotch piece looks.... interesting. As I've said couple hundred times on here, crotches are always a crapshoot.

Great Pics Trigger, can't wait to see the timber!

Sorry to say, Don't think their will be much more than just fire wood.
little bit better pic. Where it's darker (wet) is starting to rot.

I have yet to mill any crotch wood......here is a cherry I found that is dead
but still standing. Below crotch, holding tape up to tree looks to be 22" dia,
crotch is a little wider. Trouble is......White Oak tree has it wraped up.

That's what she said! :D Hope you can salvage something from that log. That cherry looks like it will be a bit of a project just to disentangle it from that oak. Looks promising though.
