Air in the fuel return line

[Gushh]

I'm seeing a lot of air on the return line from the primer bulb on one of my saws, is this due to a damaged fuel line? what else could cause such behaviour?

It's giving me some idling and starting problems (this one too! but it's not a dirty carb unfortunately!)
