If I have to carry the weight of a 7900 I want it to have 79cc not 64cc.

I agree, but if you're not carrying too much, the 6401 is waaaay cheaper than a 7900 and is adequate for most uses. The 6400 would be under $500 shipped, while a 7900 in these parts is around $800 otd. And, if you really need the power later, spring for the OEM 79cc jug for less than $200 and you're still ahead.
 
lookin today locally: some nice saws out there... (quite a few MS 361 on the bay too) ... local dealer prices so far w/20" bar (not including 6% tax) STIHL 362 $680 (dealer has left over MS 390 $480) HUSKY 349xp $710, 372xp $760 (only 365 Special's are on the bay) DOLMAR 6400 $560, 7900 $720 ... looks like better new/used prices on this site for some of these? I held the 6400, felt heavier than all the others FWIW...

If you got to pay $710 for a 346xp "you wrote 349xp" your being had. They shouldn't even be $510. REJ2
