I have seen the amish using 2-man saws at the wood shed, but mostly they use Chainsaws. I've never seen a saw being filed in the woods. My neighbor has a Husky that gets beat to death. He creates more saw dust with that saw than I have ever seen. It seems that filing his chain means shortening its life, and their motto is "Waste not, want not".

But he is the one who gave me the idea of hanging my nose sprocket in 80-90 Gear Oil overnight and also not to run my saw out of gas because the last hot revs are with minimal lubrication.

And then it's harder to start until gas gets to the carb. His battered Husky always starts on the first pull so I assume he knows what he's talking about.
