Not exactly chainsaw-related, but it uses the same powerhead as an SXL-925 so what the hell.

After one year of off and on work, my XL-98A demolition saw fired up today. Still need a couple parts, and I haven't found why the carb is leaking after I rebuilt it, but it runs. New rings, fuel lines, gaskets, boots, and all sorts of other parts. What started as a $50 "bargain" on eBay has now cost me about $150 total. Not bad, considering, but not what I had planned. My advice: only buy saws that aren't sold as-is unless you feel like a project.

It sure is fun to cut a heavy steel bar in half just like a piece of wood.

Christ this thing is loud...
 
that is what i like to hear old homelites coming back from the grave. i think some of those old saw companie were in with the people that made hearing aids. cause mann some of them still pound your ears even when you have ear plugs in.
