Not exactly chainsaw-related, but it uses the same powerhead as an SXL-925 so what the hell.
After one year of off and on work, my XL-98A demolition saw fired up today. Still need a couple parts, and I haven't found why the carb is leaking after I rebuilt it, but it runs. New rings, fuel lines, gaskets, boots, and all sorts of other parts. What started as a $50 "bargain" on eBay has now cost me about $150 total. Not bad, considering, but not what I had planned. My advice: only buy saws that aren't sold as-is unless you feel like a project.
It sure is fun to cut a heavy steel bar in half just like a piece of wood.
Christ this thing is loud...
