Anyone have drop ceiling above a wood stove?

Any issues with it? will be using fiberglass tiles.

Have sheet rock up there now but its dated and we cut a few holes in it over the years for access. I really don;t want to put it back.
 
Can't say that I do. But expansion of the rails of metal might be an issue. I'd at least check builders code in your area. That said it might be great.
 
Hmm when we install napoleon gas fireplaces there is always a minimum clearance to combustible materials above the fireplace and in front of it. Those are like 30k btu max so I'm going to say there's going to be some clearance but I'm not sure what.
 
Clearance is not much of an issue. I guess its over 5 ft.
I'm just wondering if i use fiberglass tiles will the heat shrink the plastic covering on them.
