Great thread.

Thanks to all who have contributed to the list. The only list more useful was one I had when I worked in the aerospace industry. They're addicted to acronyms, like "THAADS" "Theater High Altitude Air Defense System." You get the idea.

Searched the thread and didn't find one of my favorites:

"straight gassing" - Inadvertently or ignorantly fueling a two-stroke engine with gasoline containing no oil, usually with disastrous results.
