Hello,

I just bought a Stihl MS 391 and now looking for a
20 inch bar and some chains.

I'm not sure what to choose Rollomatic E ES or Duromatic E

The saw now has a 3/8 spur sprocket.

would these bars work on the MS 391 ?

Normaly i use Husqvarna/Jonsered so Stihl is new to me

Thanks,

you want the rollomatic, unless you do a lot of cutting in sandy areas. the roller tip bar provides much nicer cutting under most conditions.

Dont feel that you need to use a stihl bar. For about the same money you can get a better quality aftermarket bar. The rollomatic is still a laminated bar, for about the same price you can get a solid one piece roller tip bar from a good manufacturer such as tsumura or sugihara or carlton.

I would look for a 20" rollomatic ES, i don't know about the duromatic but i don't think they would fit on the 391

They will all fit, but make sure you get a Rollomatic ES or E - not a Duromatic - for anything close to normal use.

Hard nose bars rob power from the saw due to friction at the tip, and are for very dirty contitions, that will destroy a sprocket nose.
