Anyone with experience can you please help me, I can't keep spending $ on the local shop to sharpen my chains espically when I means to a grinder, any tips would be great. I have been sharpining my chains with a (Sthil) bench grinder(older one) and have a few questions. (The chain that I'm sharpenign is a Rapid Super Chisel, 3/8" and setting grinder to a 30 degree angle)
1. sometimes when I sharpen it the stone touches the links while sharpening
2. it seems to be walking/cutting sideways sometimes right after I sharpen it. Could this be because I don't gauge each chizel and keep them all the same length?
3. It looks like it looses some of that factory top angle on the chizel, is this normal?
4. Do different chains need to be set up differently on the grinder, and what determines that?
5. Is there a technique to setting up the grinder before I get using it to ensure I get good results with the sharpened chain?
Thanks
