This bar followed me home the other day. I don't know why. Only use I can think of would be milling maybe? Get the log down to where I can use my 36" MKIII?
The mount pattern is not something I've ever run across. Some type of universal mount? There are zero makings on the bar to help ID it.

The chain markings are Stihl 404 V1. Old stuff? Still very sharp and appears to be absolutely usable... If I get a 404 sprocket.

OK to make an adapter to run this on my Husky 395 if oil passages line up?

more pics on the way

more pics.
I expected to see a sprocket on the tip. It's smooth. I couldn't get a pic to work. Should the roller in the tip spin? I cleaned it up and can see daylight behind the roller.

Holding the handle on the end seems like a risk free job. I mean your just holding a handle, right? 10' of spinning, sharp chain couldn't do much damage.

It resembles a Stihl 3001 or 3002 mount, but I don't know for sure (or if so - which one of them, or if it covers both?).

This post isn't meant to be the answer, just a starting point for further discussion....

A roller tip is of course supposed to spin.

This is a large mount Stihl bar that is double drilled so it will fit the Stihl 070/090 series and the 088/MS880 type 3002 mount. I doubt it would work on a Husky.

I'm pretty sure it won't work on any Husky without extensive reworking, as the tail of the bar is much too wide. Adaptors will not solve that problem, and likely not reworked oiler holes either. It is an "F" tail bar, and the large Huskys use a "D" tail.
