Brazing tubing on to an Efco 8200 Muffler

The existing port from the muffler was matched to the shape of the flat tubing and was brazed with flux coated bronze rod. When attaching metals of diferent thickneses its is best to "Tin" both working parts and clamp together, then when you reheat the joint the bronze flows and blends the joint.

Porting Efco

The 7200 uses the same muffler as the 8200.

If you decide to port your efco let me know how small the transfer ports are. The 8200 ports were tiny. It looked as if the saw was redesigned and a portion of the cylinder wall extended over the port on the exhaust side.

Extending the port both fore and aft yielded excellent results!
 
Where is NC are ya at? I think I saw a 8200 in either the Iwanna or craigslist here a few weeks ago.:clap: Very nice looking MM
